April 29 - Most visitors consider it a big plus if they can break even after spending a weekend in Las Vegas. The Dallas Stars are already guaranteed that accomplishment after beating the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 in overtime Saturday in their Western Conference first-round series. But Peter DeBoer's top-seeded squad, which still trails the best-of-seven series, 2-1, would like nothing better than getting another road win on Monday night. Ironically, the hero of Game 3 for the Stars was a player not allowed to gamble in Las Vegas. Center...

Nashville Predators' captain Roman Josi avoided major injury after taking a puck to his right ear during Game 4 of the first-round playoff series against the Vancouver Canucks. The Predators' hopes for playoff advancement, however, took a big hit after the Canucks rallied for a 4-3 overtime win. Josi's incident happened with 9:15 left in the first period of Sunday's game in Nashville. A Canucks player attempted to dump the puck into the zone, but the puck deflected up and hit Josi as he was breaking to the middle of...

DENVER -- For a consecutive postseason, the Winnipeg Jets are once again on the verge of getting eliminated in five games in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. A 5-1 loss Sunday to the Colorado Avalanche witnessed the Jets falling into a 3-1 series hole while facing numerous questions about what's going wrong with them since winning Game 1 of the series. "The problems are self-inflicted," Jets coach Rick Bowness said. "Want to take penalties? Want to play a three-quarter ice game? You're playing right into their hands....

Nashville Predators' captain Roman Josi left in the first period of Game 4 against the Vancouver Canucks after taking a puck to his right ear. The incident happened with 9:15 left in the first period. A Canucks player attempted to dump the puck into the zone, but the puck deflected up and hit Josi as he was breaking to the middle of the ice. Though Josi returned for his next shift at the 8:10 mark, he came off the ice afterwards and headed towards the tunnel to the locker room....

Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook, better known as the three-time Grammy Award-winning country music group Little Big Town, performed the U.S. national anthem Sunday afternoon at Bridgestone Arena before the Nashville Predators faced the Vancouver Canucks in Game 4 of their NHL playoffs series. Their performance followed Colbie Caillat, who sang the anthem before Game 3 on Friday. Little Big Town was the first band to have a residency at the historical Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in 2017, when they did six shows there. All four...

For the second time in their best-of-7 series with the Vancouver Canucks, the Nashville Predators are facing a backup goaltender. According to a report from Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, Canucks goaltender Casey DeSmith is out with an injury. His backup Arturs Silovs will start Game 4 on Sunday (4 p.m. CT, TBS, Bally Sports South) at Bridgestone Arena. The injury to DeSmith has not been disclosed. It is expected to be minor, but enough to keep him out of Game 4, Seravalli added. Prior to Sunday's game, Canucks coach Rick...

The Nashville Predators are making one lineup change ahead of Game 4 against the Vancouver Canucks. Andrew Brunette confirmed on Sunday that defenseman Dante Fabbro will enter the lineup for injured defenseman Spencer Stastney, who is out week to week with an upper body injury. Brunette added there could be other changes to the lineup, but declined to say what those would be. The other options to replace Stastney would have been Tyson Barrie or recalling a defenseman from their AHL affiliate Milwaukee Admirals. Adding Fabbro provides more defensive coverage...

DENVER -- Winnipeg defenseman Brenden Dillon will miss Game 4 on Sunday against Colorado with a laceration on his hand that required stitches. Dillon was apparently cut by a skate blade during a scrum after the final horn of Colorado's 6-2 win on Friday in the first-round playoff series. Dillon skated toward the locker room holding his bleeding hand. There was blood on the ice and on the back of Avalanche forward Brandon Duhaime's jersey. The Jets are hoping Dillon will be available for Game 5 on Tuesday in Winnipeg....
