The White House Correspondents Association will no longer be responsible for determining which outlets get privileged access to the briefing room and the White House, President Donald Trump's administration announced Tuesday.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre broke down in tears at Wednesday's White House press briefing even as she secretly blocked a rival from speaking at the last media availability of President Joe Biden's administration.

She spent several minutes at the briefing thanking her colleagues, her family and the president, noting this was the administration’s 537th press briefing and her 306th briefing. 

She said she hoped her visible, public role was an 'inspiration to many young girls out there.'

The Easter Bunny hopped its way behind the podium before the White House press briefing on Monday.

The bunny greeted journalists and handed out candy to the assembled reporters before White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre shooed the bunny away. The Easter Bunny did not take any questions from the reporters.

Karine Jean-Pierre held her first briefing as White House press secretary on Monday after making history as the first Black and out LGBTQ person to step into one of the most visible roles in the administration.

"I am a Black, gay, immigrant woman. The first of all three of those to hold this position," Jean-Pierre told reporters on Monday.

She said, "If it were not for generations of barrier-breaking people before me I would not be here. But I benefit from their sacrifices, I have learned from their excellence and I am forever grateful to them."

President Biden’s trailblazing pick for his new press secretary is already being accused of creating troubling conflicts of interest because of her long-term relationship with star CNN reporter Suzanne Malveaux.

Karine Jean-Pierre — who next Friday will be both the first black and first openly gay person to hold the key White House post — lives with the network’s national correspondent in Washington, DC, with their 7-year-old daughter.

White House spokesman TJ Ducklo has been suspended without pay for threatening to “destroy” a Politico journalist for reporting about his relationship.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced the one-week suspension on Friday, saying Ducklo has apologized to the reporter, Tara Palmeri, and “is the first to acknowledge this is not the standard of behavior set out by the President.”

“In addition to his initial apology, he has sent the reporter a personal note expressing his profound regret,” Psaki tweeted.

Deputy White House press secretary Judd Deere says that the administration is compiling a “dossier” of “false” articles published by reporters regarding President Donald Trump.

Deere originally discussed the dossier with The Washington Post when asked for comment on a story titled, “Room rentals, resort fees and furniture removal: How Trump’s company charged the U.S. government more than $900,000.”

On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany clarified that President Trump does not support the conspiracy movement QAnon.

During a press conference on Wednesday, the president was asked to give his thoughts about QAnon – a movement that characterizes President Trump as waging a secret war against an elite group of pedophiles, from the deep state to Hollywood.

In an apparent effort to make his daily news conferences even more like campaign events than they already are, the White House press office has been packing the briefing room with supporters of President Donald Trump from far-right media outlets who can be relied on to toss him softball questions and initiate attacks on his political rivals.
