Australia’s new $5 banknote won’t feature Britain’s new king.

King Charles III, who took the throne after the Queen’s death last year, will not be replacing the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the Australian bill. Instead of the monarch, who is technically Australia’s head of state, the new banknote will “feature a new design that honours the culture and history of the First Australians,” the country’s central bank said on Feb. 2.

Queen Elizabeth II died of "old age", according to her death certificate, which has been released by the National Records of Scotland.

The certificate records the Queen died at 15:10 on 8 September in Balmoral Castle, at the age of 96.

Princess Anne is recorded as the person providing the information about the Queen's death.

For "occupation" of the deceased, the official form says: "Her Majesty the Queen."

The doctor who certified the death at Balmoral in Aberdeenshire was Douglas Glass, who Buckingham Palace says was an "apothecary to the Queen".

Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral took place Monday in front of a global audience, and while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, were in attendance, they weren’t sitting in the front row.

Photos from the internationally televised royal family event showed Harry and Meghan sitting in the second row behind the new King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Princess Anne and her husband Sir Tim Laurence, William the Prince of Wales, Kate Middleton, and two of the couple’s children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. 

Archbishop Welby said the Queen modeled the servant leadership expressed in the life of Jesus, who was her Savior.

“People of loving service are rare in any walk of life,” he said. “Leaders of loving service are still rarer. But in all cases, those who serve will be loved and remembered when those who cling to power and privileges are long forgotten.”

The Westminster Abbey funeral drew a packed crowd of 2,000 global heads of state, including U.S. President Biden, as well as family and select friends.

After days of lying-in-state, the body of the late Queen Elizabeth II is making its final journey as part of a grand state funeral. It travelled first to Westminster Abbey, for a religious service in front of a congregation of thousands, and then to Windsor Castle for a more intimate committal service and, finally, a private burial.

It is a day of emotion, pomp and ceremony the like of which has not been seen since the last state funeral, of Winston Churchill, almost 60 years ago. The Queen made personal additions to the plans, Buckingham Palace has said.

From Melbourne to Paris, New York to Delhi, the solemn events in London resonated across the globe.

As the doors to Westminster Abbey opened to allow guests to take their seats, across the other side of the world, Australians sat down in front of their TVs to watch the historic event.

Although they were largely empty, English pubs in the central business district of Melbourne broadcast the funeral on big screens.

Former President Donald Trump and the four other living former U.S. presidents will be invited by the British government to attend a memorial service for Queen Elizabeth in Washington, D.C., The Telegraph is reporting.

Trump and former presidents Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton were not on the guest list for the Queen's official funeral in London. President Joe Biden, however, is set to attend the funeral.

Thousands of people from across the world are set to arrive in the United Kingdom to attend Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral service on Monday. The guest list for the service includes around 500 foreign dignitaries, including about 100 heads of state. As CBS News senior foreign correspondent Holly Williams reports, that makes it a massive security challenge. 

The U.K. has plenty of experience organizing elaborate public events, from the funeral of Princess Diana in 1997, to the royal weddings of her children that have come since.

Huge queues have formed along the banks of the River Thames, as people wait to pay their respects to the Queen.

Her lying-in-state will continue 24 hours a day until 06:30 BST on Monday 19 September - the day of the funeral. Here's what you need to know before joining the queue.

How long will I have to queue?

The queue is about five miles long, stretching to Southwark Park and is currently at capacity. It has now been paused for at least six hours and government has advised people not to attempt to join it until it re-opens.
