On a “White Dudes for Harris” virtual call, it was probably fitting that “The Dude” dropped in.

Actor Jeff Bridges addressed a fundraising event geared toward white men supporting Vice President Kamala Harris and sang her praises on Monday night, before channeling his iconic role as “The Dude” in 1998’s “The Big Lebowski,” declaring, “As the Dude might say, ‘That’s just my opinion, man.’” (The original line was “That’s just, like, your opinion, man.”)

A “White Dudes for Harris” online fundraising and organizing rally raised more than $4 million for the presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday night, with speakers who included would-be running mates, Hollywood actors, and labor leaders.

More than 150,000 joined the online stream for the event, which was broadcast on YouTube, blowing past the original target of 10,000 RSVPs set by organizers several days ago.

The organizers behind an online gathering of “White Dudes for Harris” claim to have raised more than $3.5 million to support Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign during the Monday event that highlights the Democratic penchant for prioritizing affinity groups and obsession with race-and-gender essentialism.

The Zoom call attracted more than 180,000 participants, including leftwing celebrities, such as Mark Hamill, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and *NSYNC singer Lance Bass, according to NBC News.

MSNBC’s Joy Reid said Black people who vote for former President Trump over Vice President Harris, the likely Democratic nominee, are “going to look real crazy.”

“Given just the stratospheric entrance of Vice President Kamala Harris into the presidential campaign, and she has now secured enough delegates to become the nominee, you’re going to look real crazy being on the other side of that line, particularly as a person of color, but really as anyone who claims to have any connection to the culture,” Reid said in a video posted to TikTok.

Republicans are warning their colleagues to back off using diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) politics to attack Vice President Harris as she launches her presidential bid.

The GOP has had to quickly revamp its attacks in the days since President Biden withdrew from the 2024 race and Democrats coalesced around Harris as his replacement — and some members have taken swipes over her race and gender in arguing she is unqualified.

The Left gets in high dudgeon every time someone calls Vice President Kamala Harris a diversity, equity, and inclusion hire. Joe Scarborough, whose morning show on MSNBC sets the agenda for the wokeati, railed that it was racist — right before his guest, Katty Kay, called former President Donald Trump “old, white, and male.” 

But none of these truths should offend supporters of either candidate.

Trump is 78, white, and famously male.

There is a raging debate in corporate America on the future of DEI, aka Diversity ­Equity and Inclusion, because it is literally destroying businesses that go there.

And yet the American public may soon be subjected to DEI writ large in the next president of the United States, if Kamala Harris finds her way to the top of the Democratic ticket while Joe Biden wilts away as the party’s presidential nominee after his horrific ­debate performance. 

Ever since speculation began that Vice President Kamala Harris might replace President Biden at the top of the Democratic ticket, there has been a steady, ugly chorus on the right. The New York Post published a column that declared that Harris would be a “D.E.I. president,” and quickly the phrase ricocheted across the conservative media ecosystem.

Body-camera footage showing the fatal police shooting of Sonya Massey, a 36-year-old Black woman who had called 911 for help, was released Monday in a case that has led to murder charges against a deputy.

The 36-minute video released via the Illinois State Police includes body-camera footage from each of the two Sangamon County sheriff’s deputies who responded to Massey’s house after midnight on July 6 after Massey called 911 to report a possible “prowler” at her home in Springfield, according to a court document filed by prosecutors.
