Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky has questioned the credibility of a doctor’s notes asserting that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is in good health, according to comments reported by Politico on Tuesday. McConnell, age 81, has faced several public health scares in 2023, the most recent being when he froze while speaking with reporters in Kentucky on Aug. 30. Paul, a physician and ophthalmologist, suggested that McConnell is suffering from a neurological issue, even as the Attending Physician of Congress has denied that McConnell’s freeze was prompted by serious...

Sen. Rand Paul said he isn’t buying the diagnosis of Minority Leader Mitch McConnell by the U.S. Capitol’s top doctor following a second freezing episode last week. Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the Capitol’s attending physician, said Mr. McConnell’s latest on-camera paralysis was the result of “lightheadedness” in connection to recovering from a concussion incurred by the 81-year-old during a fall earlier this year and that dehydration may have played a part. “Everybody’s seen the clips,” Mr. Paul, Kentucky Republican and an ophthalmologist by trade, told reporters Tuesday. “It’s not a...

WASHINGTON — While Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., received well wishes from most of his colleagues following his second health episode where he froze while speaking to reporters, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., still has questions about the leader’s health − even after he was cleared by doctors. “I don't think it's been particularly helpful to have the Senate doctor describing it as dehydration, which I think even a non-physician seeing that probably aren't really accepting that explanation,” Paul told reporters Tuesday, according to Punchbowl.

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has submitted an “official criminal referral” to the Department of Justice (DOJ), accusing Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, of committing perjury—a felony. The accusation centers around an email from February 2020, in which Dr. Fauci detailed a call with British medical researcher Jeremy Farrar, then-director of the Wellcome Trust.

Senator Rand Paul discussed his criminal referral of Anthony Fauci to the Department of Justice in an interview Tuesday, declaring, “We have him dead to rights.”

According to the Congressional Research Service, "a congressional criminal referral is a non-binding communication to the DOJ, made either by a congressional committee or by individual Members of Congress, that specifically articulates evidence supporting the possible commission of a crime and asks the DOJ to either conduct further investigation or otherwise pursue the matter."

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) announced he sent an “official criminal referral” against Dr. Anthony Fauci to the Department of Justice. On Saturday, he shared a Twitter post that displayed an email showing information exchanged between Fauci and Jeremy Farrar, current chief scientist for the World Health Organization who directed the Wellcome Trust, a health research charity, at the time of the correspondence. Paul stated, “This directly contradicts everything he said in committee hearing to me, denying absolutely that they funded any gain of function, and it’s absolutely a lie.” The...

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky claims that the truth of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s lies is in Fauci’s own emails. Paul, who frequently dueled with Fauci prior to the doctor’s retirement, has sent a criminal referral to Attorney General Merrick Garland accusing Fauci of lying to Congress. A criminal referral is a request to prosecute an alleged crime because Congress has no power to prosecute. Paul cited some of his evidence in a social media post, sharing a screenshot of an email posted by RealClearPolitics White House reporter Philip Wegmann....

Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul slammed Dr. Anthony Fauci on Monday while on Fox News, explaining the new criminal referral to the Department of Justice (DOJ). Paul alleges that newly uncovered emails from 2020 show Fauci lied to Congress in 2021, sending an official criminal referral to the DOJ. One email shows Fauci and other experts expressed concern that the coronavirus was mutated by scientists. “The suspicion was heightened by the fact that scientists in Wuhan University are known to have been working on gain-of-function experiments to determine the molecular...
