As we reported in January, President Donald Trump inherited a resilient economy experiencing continued growth in jobs, including an increase in full-time workers. But Republican Sen. Rick Scott recently painted a much different picture, calling the pre-Trump economy “crappy” and falsely claiming that full-time employment was “dropping almost the entire Biden administration.”

In late November of 2022, Sen. Rick Scott received a text from an aide to Mitch McConnell. In the new Congress, the terse message informed him, Scott would no longer be a member of the powerful Commerce Committee.

It had been a bad month for Senate Republicans, many of whom blamed their poor performance and Democratic gains on Scott, who was chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. McConnell and his top aides questioned Scott’s fundraising prowess, his candidate recruitment, his policy agenda and even his decision to take a vacation in the middle of the campaign.

A slew of elected officials blasted “death to America” chants at a pro-Palestinian rally last week in Dearborn, Michigan, but Rep. Rashida Tlaib wasn’t one of them. The Democrat Tlaib has not commented publicly on the anti-American rhetoric at the Al-Quds Day event in her district. She also refused to answer when asked repeatedly Thursday by a Fox News reporter if she denounced the slogans, saying, “I don’t talk to Fox News.” The congresswoman’s stiff-arm drew an outraged response from other members of Congress. “After refusing to condemn Hamas murdering...

Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) is introducing legislation to prevent President Joe Biden from allowing migrants at the United States-Mexico border to bypass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) rules while flying throughout the country. Green, who serves as chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, issued the “Verifying that All Illegal Aliens Have Legitimate Documents Act” — also referred to as the VALID Act — on Thursday. “Having legal identification to board a flight in the United States is a no-brainer, but not for the Biden administration,” Green said in an exclusive...

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) rekindled his feud with Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Tuesday with an op-ed accusing the Senate minority leader of “undermining” the Republican Party with a border compromise that has been panned by conservatives.

Scott, who unsuccessfully challenged McConnell for his leadership role last February and has been a thorn in his side ever since, criticized the Senate GOP leader in an editorial for the Hill over his support for the proposed border deal, which would be paired with funding for Ukraine.

The home of Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) was swatted Wednesday night in an incident he described as a “sick attempt to terrorize my family.” Police received a call around 9 p.m. from a person reporting a shooting at Scott’s home in Naples. Within 15 minutes, officers realized that the caller’s claims were a hoax, the Naples Police Department said in a news release. Scott and his wife were out at dinner during the incident, and no one else was inside the home, said Bryan McGinn, a spokesman for Naples police....

NAPLES — U.S. Sen. Rick Scott joined other political officials in being "swatted" this week while having dinner with his wife, he said Thursday on X, formerly Twitter. Scott said his Naples home was swatted Wednesday night by "cowards." He did not fully detail the nature of the swatting. "Last night, while at dinner with my wife, cowards 'swatted' my home in Naples. These criminals wasted the time & resources of our law enforcement in a sick attempt to terrorize my family. Ann & I want to thank @NaplesPolice &...

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) was targeted by a “swatting” incident Tuesday night, with police responding to a false report of a shooting at his home in Naples, Florida —the latest in a string of swatting incidents that have targeted Republican politicians in recent days. The incident occurred while Scott and his wife were out for dinner, he said on X. Naples Police officials have confirmed the swatting incident occurred, both in a message on X and in statements to multiple news outlets, noting that at 9:02 p.m., the non-emergency police...

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., said Thursday that his home Naples, Florida was "swatted" this week while he was at dinner with his family, an incident that follows several similar swatting events involving high-profile politicians in recent years. Swatting is the act of contacting local law enforcement and directing them to the home of another person by making a false allegation, such as a crime being committed or a person being in danger. Scott wrote on social media Thursday: "Last night, while at dinner with my wife, cowards 'swatted' my home...

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., said his home in Naples, Florida was “swatted” Wednesday night. “Last night, while at dinner with my wife, cowards ‘swatted’ my home in Naples,” Scott wrote in a Thursday morning post on X. “These criminals wasted the time & resources of our law enforcement in a sick attempt to terrorize my family.” Scott thanked the Naples Police Department and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office for “all they do to keep us safe.” “Swatting” is a false report of a crime or emergency to authorities intended to...
