The organizer of a ā€œblack massā€ that took place outside the Kansas state Capitol on Friday amid heavy Catholic protest was arrested shortly afterward in the Capitol building after punching a protester in the face.

A video from local news outlet WIBW shows Michael Stewart raising his arms and chanting in the Capitol rotunda, surrounded by a number of protesters urging him to stop. A young man later identified as Marcus Schroeder attempted to snatch what appeared to be papers from Stewart’s outstretched hands.

A physical altercation inside the Kansas Statehouse Friday ended with Capitol Police arresting Satanic church leader Michael Stewart, capping off a morning of inflammatory religious demonstration. Stewart punched a man, Marcus Jeremiah Jared Schroeder, who repeatedly attempted to rip a booklet out of his hands while he called out to Satan from the Capitol’s first-floor rotunda. Both men were taken into custody and booked into the Shawnee County Jail, records show.

The leader of an organization whose satanic altar at Iowa’s state capitol was torn down by a Christian military veteran on Thursday has dismissed the vandalism as ā€œa real act of cowardiceā€.

ā€œThere’s a certain point at which we need some adults in the room to tell people what … liberal, democratic values are; what their value is; why we uphold them; what they’re good for; and they need to stand up for these values or we are going to further degenerate in our polarism towards autocracy,ā€ the co-founder of the Satanic Temple, Lucien Greaves, told CNN’s NewsNight on Thursday.

A former Navy pilot says he broke the laws of Iowa on Thursday to obey the laws of God.

Michael Cassidy vandalized a display put up in the Iowa state Capitol by the Satanic Temple, according to The Sentinel. The display featured a ram’s head on a caped mannequin.

Cassidy took off the ram’s head, tossed it in a trash can, and knocked the statue over. He faces a fourth-degree criminal mischief charge.

The Satanic Temple lost its lawsuit against Indiana’s abortion ban on Wednesday when a federal judge threw out the suit.

In her decision, Judge Jane Magnus-Stinson pointed out that the Satanic Temple does not run any abortion clinics in Indiana and failed to disclose any specific Satanic Temple members who are being affected by the ban.

ā€œIn sum, the Satanic Temple’s allegations fail to prove it has suffered any injury in fact,ā€ the judge wrote.

"I am your nightmare," a possessed child tells Russell Crowe. "My nightmare is France winning the World Cup," the actor fires back in the April 14 release, The Pope's Exorcist. Opening the same day is Nefarious, a movie about a psychiatrist who must determine whether a man on death row who claims to be possessed by the devil is mentally fit enough to be executed.

Things seemed relatively placid when a pro-life group — TFP Student Action — set up a small demonstration with brochures and bagpipes at George Washington University in the nation's capital late last month.

But the peace would not last.

One flustered woman kicked things off, arguing at one point with a pro-lifer that "it's still a baby inside, but I have every single right to f***ing decide what I do with my own f***ing body!"
