The social media app Bluesky wasn’t born out of the storm clouds surrounding Elon Musk‘s Twitter-turned-X, but its growth in popularity is a direct response to a perceived shift to the right for users who prefer to “Tweet.” Bluesky is a microblogging platform that acts, looks, and operates like X. It began as a research program inside Twitter’s original operations in 2019 before becoming fully established on its own in 2021. U.S. Gov't Says Immigrants May Face Visa Denial Over 'Antisemitic' Social Media Posts

The new policy says 'antisemitic activity on social media' could be grounds for denying visas, but the definition of antisemitism remains vague. 'We already know that this move is not genuinely about protecting American Jews,' progressive Jewish group head said

Citizenship and Immigration Services announced Wednesday it will begin screening immigrants' social media accounts for signs of antisemitic activity, which could be used as grounds to deny applications for immigration benefits.

The move was quickly met with criticism from free speech advocates, who argued the government should not be using its authority to chill the freedom of speech of its residents, including immigrants who are in the country on a visa or green card.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has announced it will begin screening immigrants' social media for evidence of antisemitic activity as grounds for denying immigration benefit requests. The screenings will affect people applying for permanent residence status as well as foreigners affiliated with educational institutions. The policy will go into effect immediately.

Gwyneth Paltrow has a very special guest on the newest episode of her : husband Brad Falchuk . The TV writer and producer made a rare appearance on his wife's Instagram grid on Tuesday, April 8, in a selfie-style video shot by Paltrow, 52. "Hi guys, this is my husband, Brad," the Oscar winner began, before Falchuk, 54, said "Hi" and waved briefly at the camera. "I was doing a special podcast about step-parenting, so I asked Brad to join me," she continued. Falchuk then chimed in from behind Paltrow,...

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will now start considering migrants’ antisemitic activity on social media as "grounds for denying immigration benefit requests," with Homeland Security vowing there is "no room in the United States for the rest of the world’s terrorist sympathizers." Homeland Security announced Wednesday that the change will "immediately affect aliens applying for lawful permanent resident status, foreign students and aliens affiliated with educational institutions linked to antisemitic activity." "Today U.S.

Meta is expanding Teen Accounts - what it considers its age-appropriate experience for under 18s - to Facebook and Messenger. The system involves putting younger teens on the platforms into more restricted settings by default, with parental permission required in order to live stream or turn off image protections for messages. It was first introduced last September on Instagram, which Meta says "fundamentally changed the experience for teens" on the platform. But campaigners say it's unclear what difference Teen Accounts has actually made. "Eight months after Meta rolled out Teen...

Meta is introducing Teen Accounts to Facebook and Messenger. The feature, which automatically enrolls young users into an app experience with built-in protections, will be available on these platforms in the U.S., U.K., Australia, and Canada before expanding to additional regions in the future. Teen Accounts first rolled out to Instagram last September after Instagram and other popular social networks were grilled by U.S. lawmakers for not doing enough to protect teens. As part of Tuesday’s announcement, Meta said it’s bringing new built-in protections for Teen Accounts on Instagram.
