Donald Trump’s name will appear on the ballot Tuesday for the first time since his historic conviction on felony crimes as a handful of states hold the last Republican presidential primary contests of 2024.

The former president will be on the ballot in Republican contests in Montana, New Jersey and New Mexico. President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, will compete in primaries in the same states, plus the primary in Washington, D.C., and one in South Dakota.

The 2024 presidential primary calendar is drawing to a close, with the last of the state contests set for Tuesday.

Voters in Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota will cast ballots in the presidential race — and, along with Iowa, weigh in on key state and local races down the ballot. Washington, D.C., will hold its Democratic presidential primary, and two more Democratic contests in Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands will close things out the following week.

Voters in five states and Washington, D.C., head to the polls Tuesday, where they will decide a host of presidential and congressional primaries.

Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota voters will decide who will win the Democratic and GOP presidential primaries, although President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have already clinched the nominations.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem should leave well enough alone, given the fallout over an anecdote in her new book about shooting a dog she later deemed to be a danger to her children. Instead, the governor has pushed ahead on a media tour plugging No Going Back, and to suggest that it has been a disaster is an understatement. With a passage about a supposed meeting with North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un reportedly being scrubbed on reprints and the audio and ebook editions, the Republican politician cannot...

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem's controversial memoir " — in which the MAGA darling details shooting the family dog in a gravel pit — was released to the public Tuesday and immediately subjected to their reviews. Readers had mixed feelings about Noem's book, in which she notoriously describes killing her and a "nasty and mean" billy goat, as well as the claim she North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jung Un. “I remember when I met with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un," according to the . "I’m sure he underestimated...

By Alexa St. John, Sean Murphy and Jim Salter | Associated Press OKLAHOMA CITY — A tornado destroyed homes, forced the evacuation of a nursing home and toppled trees and power lines when it roared through a small Oklahoma town, one of several twisters that erupted in the central United States amid a series of powerful storms that stretched into Tuesday. At least one death was reported. The tornado ripped through the 1,000-person town of Barnsdall, about a 40-minute drive north of Tulsa, on Monday night. It was the second...

In what has devolved into the TV equivalent of tweeting through it, Kristi Noem appeared for yet another cable news interview on Tuesday morning. The beleaguered South Dakota governor seems to be on a mission to salvage her exceedingly slim hopes of becoming Donald Trump’s running mate. It did not go well for her. Having already enjoyed friendly sitdowns with other Fox News and Newsmax stars, the MAGA governor joined Trump-friendly Fox Business Network anchor Stuart Varney on Tuesday morning to do some more damage control over the revelations in...

Tyler Broghammer leaves his office nearly every day armed with a small blue cooler. Inside is a weapon against South Dakota’s syphilis epidemic: syringes of penicillin. The sexually transmitted infection case manager at Oyate Health Center in Rapid City also carries rapid STI tests and condoms on his near daily drive around town, meeting with people he’s learned may have the disease. Broghammer is one of two STI case managers at Oyate Health finding and treating people who have syphilis. The organization is one of several working to address the...

At least 16 tornadoes were reported in six states overnight into Tuesday morning. The twisters were reported in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee and South Dakota. The most destructive storm appeared to have been in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, north of Tulsa, where major damage was reported. In addition to tornadoes, 4-inch hail, about the size of a softball, was reported in Kansas. A tornado watch had been issued Tuesday morning for parts of Missouri -- including St. Louis -- and Illinois. That watch was to be in effect until 8 a.m....

The Daily Show delivered a blunt message to South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem as she deals with backlash over : "Even Cruella de Vil was like, 'At least I was making a coat.'" Noem, among running mate hopefuls considered by former President Donald , was Monday night from host Jordan Klepper. "The top thing is to not shoot your puppy," Klepper told Noem. "You can't just go around executing puppies saying, 'That's that's life on a farm.' It's a farm, not international waters. " Noem has repeatedly defended her decisions...
