When Dale Skran drives by the airport near his New Jersey home, he can’t help but notice the “conga line of planes” taking off and landing: “It’s just zoom, zoom, zoom,” he said. “Every few minutes a big jet lands and there’s multiple runways.”

A leader at the National Space Society, Skran sees a similar future for space travel.

In 1961, Ed Dwight hoped to become the first Black astronaut in space. But he never made it. Now, at 90 years old, Dwight will get the chance to finally experience space onboard Blue Origin's upcoming mission into Earth's atmosphere. 

Dwight was selected by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 to enter an Air Force training program known as the path to NASA's Astronaut Corps. 

The launch of Boeing’s Starliner, which aimed to lift off on its crewed maiden voyage Saturday, has been scrubbed.

The new spacecraft was expected to lift off atop an Atlas V rocket at 12:25 p.m. ET from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, carrying veteran NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams.

China landed an uncrewed spacecraft on the far side of the moon on Sunday, a landmark mission which aims to retrieve rocks and soil from the lunar surface, China's space agency said.

The landing elevates China's space power status in a global rush to the moon, where countries, including the United States, are hoping to exploit lunar minerals to sustain long-term astronaut missions and moon bases.

Boeing's first crewed space flight was postponed just two hours before launch for a safety check, Nasa officials say.

Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams were already in position inside the Starliner when the decision to halt was made because of a potential issue with an oxygen relief valve in the Atlas rocket run by the United Launch Alliance.

There was no issue with Boeing's Starliner Spacecraft which sits on top of the rocket.
