Gavin Newsom, distancing himself from some of the liberal policies he embraced as California governor, has embarked on an experiment ahead of a potential presidential run: hosting a podcast featuring right-wing guests, including former Trump strategist Stephen K. Bannon and conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The gambit has achieved one of Newsom’s perennial goals: making himself part of the nation’s political conversation as he seeks to portray himself as a disrupter within the Democratic Party.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) new podcast hosting prominent supporters of President Trump is raising questions about his political strategy as he wraps up his tenure as governor and keeps the door open to a 2028 presidential run.

The first few episodes of “This is Gavin Newsom” have found the governor seeking common ground with conservative figures like Charlie Kirk and Steve Bannon. The show has also seen Newsom break with Democrats on the issue of transgender athletes in women’s sports, calling it “deeply unfair.”

California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom infamously dodged a recall election, dined out at a fancy restaurant during mass COVID-19 lockdowns, and pivoted from massive deadly wildfire mismanagement.

He is now running a podcast where he invites staunch conservatives for debate.

All of which has Democrats seeing red.

Steve Bannon argued that the “oligarchs” close to President Trump will abandon Republicans the same way they did to Democrats.

Bannon was briefly interviewed by CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan on Wednesday, when he continued his case against tech billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.

“You can tell President Trump doesn’t totally trust the oligarchs,” Bannon said.

“Musk is a parasitic illegal immigrant. He wants to impose his freak experiments and play-act as God without any respect for the country’s history, values, or traditions.” Steve Bannon doesn’t hold back when I meet him in the basement of his Washington townhouse.

Steve Bannon, a former top White House aide to President Donald Trump, pleaded guilty Tuesday in New York in connection with the defrauding of hundreds of thousands of Trump supporters who contributed more than $15 million to a purported effort to build a wall on the U.S. border with Mexico.

Bannon, 71, was sentenced to three years of conditional discharge after pleading guilty, meaning he will not serve any time in prison. The sentence was part of a plea agreement by Bannon.

Steve Bannon, a former adviser to President-elect Trump, went after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a Monday episode of his “Bannon’s War Room” show.

“Zuckerberg can’t be trusted, at all,” Bannon said on his show, in a clip highlighted by Mediaite. “He came in the Oval Office
 when I was there
I went absolutely bonkers, but he still got to the Oval Office.”

Days after fawning over what tech magnate Elon Musk’s deep pockets could do for the MAGA movement, Steve Bannon went berserk on the world’s richest man and vowed to limit his White House influence.

Bannon, 71, who hosts the “War Room” podcast and has a penchant for plotting all-out brass-knuckled political warfare, suggested Musk “should go back to South Africa” and decried his stance on H1-B visas.

Steve Bannon is ramping up his attack on Elon Musk. And this time he’s threatening violence.

The House of MAGA has been up in flames this week over Musk’s plan to protect immigrants with H1-B visas, while diehard conservatives like the president-elect’s former strategist Bannon and Trump loyalist Laura Loomer have said foreign workers should be deported and replaced with “real” Americans.

Another previous top advisor to former President Donald Trump is scheduled to report to a federal prison for a four-month prison term.

On Monday, former White House adviser and host of the “War Room” podcast, Steve Bannon, will record his final show near the Connecticut low-security facility where he will stay through the end of October.

“We’ll be as close to the prison as we can possibly get,” Bannon told The New York Times in a weekend interview. “I’ll walk across the street and surrender.”
