2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden’s lawyer responded Monday to the secretary of the Senate who said that her office cannot comply with Biden’s request to order a search for a complaint allegedly made by his accuser Tara Reade when she was a staffer for him in the Senate.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Tara Reade, the former Senate staffer who alleges Joe Biden sexually assaulted her 27 years ago, says she filed a limited report with a congressional personnel office that did not explicitly accuse him of sexual assault or harassment.

“I remember talking about him wanting me to serve drinks because he liked my legs and thought I was pretty and it made me uncomfortable,” Reade said in an interview Friday with The Associated Press. “I know that I was too scared to write about the sexual assault.”

Two more people corroborated some of Tara Reade’s claims that the former Vice President Joe Biden sexually assaulted her 27 years ago when she was a staffer in his Senate office, according to a report.

One person, who knew Reade in 1993, told the Associated Press that Reade mentioned the alleged assault when it happened.

There was some sneering going down at CNN on Friday, following the much-anticipated interview over at MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” with presidential candidate Joe Biden regarding Tara Reade’s allegations. Pressed over and over again by co-host Mika Brzezinski, Biden flatly denied ever having sexually assaulted the former aide on his Senate staff.

Biden was directly asked about former Senate staffer Tara Reade’s accusation that he sexually assaulted her in the early 1990s for the first time Friday. Before that moment, Biden had only rejected the accusation through a spokesperson, despite numerous public interviews in the five weeks since Reade publicly accused him.

The presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee denied sexually assaulting Reade on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Friday.

Joe Biden released a statement Friday denying a former aide's claims he sexually assaulted her 27 years ago, saying of Tara Reade's allegation: "This never happened."

Friday's statement is the first detailed response from Biden to Reade's allegation.
