Many hours they should have spent practicing, Aaliyah Rivas and her teammates roamed the University of Nevada, Reno softball field carrying shovels and buckets instead of bats and balls. The athletic department rarely maintained the field. So plowing snow, pulling weeds and picking rocks, trash and goose poop out of the grass fell to coaches and players. The team had complained for years about its dilapidated facilities. The dugout toilets didn’t flush. The field lacked lights, which meant games could be played only in the daytime, when many fans were...

A settlement being discussed in an antitrust lawsuit against the NCAA and major college conferences could cost billions and pave the way for a compensation model for college athletes. An agreement has not been finalized and many questions remain unanswered. It is also unclear if new rules could withstand further legal scrutiny, but it appears college sports is heading down a revolutionary path with at least some schools directly paying athletes to participate. Here’s what is known and what still needs to be figured out: House vs. NCAA is a...

How Rachel Elizabeth Imani Buckner was killed is unclear, but what is certain is her live-in boyfriend killed her, then sawed off her head, hands and feet to conceal her identity and cover his tracks, a prosecutor said Monday. Clark pushed for the jury to convict Roberts of second-degree murder, conceding there’s no evidence of premeditation on Roberts' part, a prerequisite for first-degree murder. If he is convicted of second-degree murder, Roberts could face at least 15 years in state prison. Buckner’s dismembered body was found in black garbage bags...

The Department of Education on Friday announced new rules updating Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, the federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in federally funded schools.

The new regulations — which explicitly protect all students from discrimination, including survivors of sexual assault and those who identify as LGBTQ — advance the landmark civil law’s promise of “ensuring that no person experiences sex discrimination in federally funded education,” the Education Department said in a news release.

The Biden administration on Friday unveiled a final set of sweeping changes to Title IX, the federal civil rights law prohibiting sex-based discrimination at government-funded schools, after more than a year of delays and mounting pressure from advocacy groups.

The final changes, which reinstitute protections for student survivors of sexual assault and harassment that were rolled back during the Trump administration, will take effect Aug. 1.

On Friday, the Biden regime proudly announced that women will be forced to allow men in their locker rooms and bathrooms with a new 1577-page Title IX ruling.

Women will be forced to compete against men.

And women will be forced to accept men on their sports teams.

Women and young girls will be forced to share locker rooms and bathrooms based on gender identity rather than biological sex.

Former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines said that with his 2024 revision, President Joe Biden has basically “abolished Title IX” — a policy that was originally enacted to protect women and girls.

On Friday, Gaines broke down what Biden and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona have done by revising the law enacted in 1972. A summary of the new provisions “clarifies that sex discrimination includes discrimination based on sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity.”

With the increase of men wanting to compete in women’s sports, it often seems like it’s women who hate women’s sports the most. Consider South Carolina women’s head basketball coach Dawn Staley and her recent comments that anyone “who considers themselves a woman” should be allowed to play in women’s sports. I asked South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley if she supports transgender women (biological males) playing women's college basketball. "If you consider yourself a woman and you want to play sports or vice versa, you should be able to...
