Democrat presidential hopeful and billionaire Tom Steyer has vowed to raise the federal minimum wage to $22 per hour should he defeat other Democrat hopefuls and President Donald Trump in November.

According to a report from Fox News, Steyer made the announcement during a campaign block party on Sunday while campaigning in South Carolina. Both Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) have also released plans to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour.

Four Democratic candidates will take the stage in New Hampshire on Wednesday to make a final pitch to voters ahead of the state's primary contest next week.

Former Vice President Joe Biden, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang and billionaire Tom Steyer will participate in back-to-back town hall events hosted by CNN.

CNN announced Friday it will host eight Democratic presidential town halls over a two-night period from New Hampshire ahead of the party's first primary slated for Feb. 11.

The network format has candidates appearing back-to-back on Feb. 5 and 6. Questions will come from either a CNN moderator or the audience at Saint Anselm College. Moderators will be announced at a later date.

"The audience will be comprised of invited New Hampshire Democrats and independents who say they will vote in the Democratic primary, as well as Saint Anslem College students," according to CNN.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, is protesting CNN after the network snubbed her from a Democratic town hall just days before the New Hampshire primary on Feb. 11.

At a campaign stop in Iowa, Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer embraced a radical proposal to counter Republican domination of the Supreme Court — court-packing.

Tom Steyer is an investor, activist, philanthropist, and donor to progressive and Democratic Party causes. He retired from Farallon Capital Management, the asset management company he founded, in 2012 to focus on politics and issue advocacy.

Steyer announced that he was running for president of the United States on July 9, 2019.

In 2013, Steyer founded NextGen Climate, which was rebranded as NextGen America in July 2017. Steyer spent more money on the 2014 and 2016 elections than any other individual donor.

Progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) railed against moderate Democrats for being “funded by billionaires” in a steadfast defense of political “purity tests,” all while neglecting to mention her own acceptance of a billionaire’s donation to her campaign.
