President Donald Trump’s Director of National Intelligence (DNI), Tulsi Gabbard, will prioritize ending politicization of the Intelligence Community (IC) and restoring transparency, according to a list of priorities obtained by the Daily Caller.

The Senate confirmed Gabbard as DNI on Wednesday. Her day one priorities highlight politicization and the need for unbiased intelligence collection.

Tulsi Gabbard, President Donald Trump’s pick to become director of national intelligence, cleared a key procedural hurdle on Monday to advance her nomination toward a final Senate vote.

The Republican-led chamber, requiring only a simple majority, voted 52-46 to clear a procedural step and set the stage for confirmation later in the week.

Republican Maine Sen. Susan Collins announced Monday she will support President Donald Trump’s Director of National Intelligence (DNI) nominee, Tulsi Gabbard.

ā€œAfter extensive consideration of her nomination, I will support Tulsi Gabbard to be the Director of National Intelligence,ā€ she said in a statement. ā€œAs one of the principal authors of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 that established this coordinating position, I understand the critical role the DNI plays in the Intelligence community.ā€

Tulsi Gabbard would transfer one of her businesses to her husband if she is confirmed as director of National Intelligence, in a similar move to one made by President Donald Trump ahead of his first administration that drew accusations from critics of potential conflicts of interest.

As part of the nomination process, the former Democratic congresswoman had to file financial disclosures and an ethics agreement with the U.S. Office of Government Ethics before facing a confirmation hearing with the Senate Intelligence Committee.

More than four dozen former intelligence officials urged the Senate on Monday to confirm Tulsi Gabbard as President Donald Trump's new director of national intelligence.

Gabbard was nominated for the position by Trump in November after she joined the Republican Party. The Senate Intelligence Committee is expected to hold a hearing for Gabbard later this week.

Some Republican senators are pushing for the unusual step of making public a key vote on Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination in the Senate Intelligence Committee, in an attempt to exert pressure on the members of a panel that typically does business behind closed doors.

Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Tom Cotton is being prodded to make the change by senators allied with President Donald Trump, according to two Senate GOP officials granted anonymity to speak about private conversations.

Sources on the left were apprehensive about many of Trump’s appointments, noting the nominees' often hard-lined stances on immigration yet dismissive opinions on the January 6 Capitol riot. Sources on the right met the appointments with mixed opinions, with some praising the president's choices, and others wary of the controversial figures.

Former Hawaii Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard says she would be ā€œhonoredā€ to serve as former President Donald Trump’s running mate if given the chance to join the Republican ticket for November.

During an appearance on the ā€œTriggeredā€ podcast of Mr. Trumpā€˜s son, Donald Trump Jr., Ms. Gabbard, who ran for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, said she would relish the chance to serve alongside Mr. Trump.

Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard blasted the Biden administration over its response to the wildfire in Maui that killed dozens of people. A wildfire on Maui destroyed many buildings in the town of Lahaina, killing at least 96 people as of Monday. Video posted on showed people fleeing into the ocean to escape the fire, which destroyed many cultural artifacts in the city that served as the capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii.
