[Editor's note: This story originally was published by The Daily Signal.] Wisconsin is one of the most fiercely contested battleground states in this election cycle, but it lacks federal transparency requirements for voter registration imposed on most states, according to a lawsuit by an election watchdog. Minnesota, generally a solidly blue state although it saw a razor-thin margin in the results of the 2016 presidential race, also doesn’t make its voter rolls available to the public, the lawsuit contends.

Oak Forest’s Justin Gibbs can easily pin down the moment that catapulted his baseball career. When he was 8 or 9 years old, Gibbs made a dramatic switch that started on the baseball field and carried over to the rest of his life. “I used to be right-handed,” Gibbs said. “One day I just tried throwing left-handed, and it just clicked. It felt right. That’s when I really started becoming a good pitcher.” And Gibbs, a junior pitcher/infielder, is putting together a dominant season on the mound. It continued Tuesday...

Milwaukee Public Museum's future home had its groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday, with construction to begin in June. The ceremony was moved from the construction site, at West McKinley Avenue and North Sixth Street, to The Trade hotel, 420 W. Juneau Ave., because of rain. Mayor Cavalier Johnson and others praised the $240 million project. Johnson told the crowd the museum "will be a major driver" in Milwaukee's continued growth, with County Executive David Crowley calling it "an exciting new landmark building." It will be "a place of answers" about learning, natural...

A diminishing line of storms should bring rain to Milwaukee by late morning, before a slight risk of severe weather develops in the afternoon. The National Weather Service is forecasting a one out of five chance of severe weather in southern Wisconsin, including Milwaukee. If conditions are met, the severe weather could bring strong wind gusts and hail, plus a thin chance of a weak tornado developing in the afternoon. "(It's) depending on how much sunlight we see behind the dying line of storms this morning," said Cameron Miller, a...

Spring allergy season is in full swing in Wisconsin As seasonal allergies return, Wisconsinites might be suffering with runny nose, sneezing and itchy eyes. Rising temperatures mean that plants are releasing more pollen into the air for a longer amount of time.
