Apple Inc. was sued by two female employees who claim it ā€œsystemicallyā€ pays women less than their male counterparts for similar work, and who are seeking to represent thousands of other women facing the same alleged discrimination.

Whistleblowers have accused senior officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation of retaliating against agents who express conservative or Christian beliefs by conducting unnecessary security clearance investigations, and in some cases, revoking their privileges.

The allegations were made by at least three FBI agents in disclosures to the House Judiciary Committee earlier this month.

The U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk’s SpaceX, alleging the space exploration company discriminated in its hiring practices by illegally disqualifying asylees and refugees from jobs.

In a lawsuit filed Thursday in federal court in Washington, D.C., the Justice Department said that for years, SpaceX officials from Musk, its chief executive, on down, repeatedly said it could only hire U.S. citizens and green card holders in public statements, job posts and at recruitment fairs.

An advocacy is pressing the University of Minnesota's Office of Undergraduate Studies after the taxpayer-funded university program opened its paid undergraduate internship program application to only non-white applicants. 

The Equal Protection Project of the Legal Insurrection Foundation is calling for the University of Minnesota (UMN) to change its application process and open its summer internship programs to all students regardless of skin color.

A gender discrimination trial in Washington, D.C., shined a harsh spotlight on one of the most important legal offices in the U.S. government, portraying it as a hotbed of dysfunction, turf wars, mismanagement and paranoia.

The lawsuit, which came to a head earlier this month in federal court in the nation’s capital, centered on claims of gender discrimination in the FBI’s general counsel’s office, where some of the most powerful attorneys in the country are charged with helping safeguard Americans from terrorism, cyber threats, organized crime and corruption.

Government has none of the measures in place that other workplaces do to deal with bad behavior.

Last week, Representative Matt Gaetz tweeted that if he were ever engulfed in scandal, he wanted it to be called ā€œGaetzgate.ā€ (The Floridian was replying to a groaner of an Elon Musk pun that he seemed to have missed; that lack of perceptiveness was an omen.)

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that federal sex-based civil rights law protects workers from discrimination on the basis on sexual orientation and gender identity.

The six-to-three decision established that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act covers sexual orientation as well as an employee’s sex, meaning workers will now be protected in the 29 states that do not have laws protecting all LGBTQ employees from job discrimination. The ruling upheld decisions by lower courts that concluded job discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation was included in illegal sex discrimination.

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that a landmark civil rights law protects gay and transgender workers from workplace discrimination, handing the movement for L.G.B.T. equality a stunning victory.

The vote was 6 to 3, with Justice Neil M. Gorsuch writing the majority opinion. He was joined by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen G. Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

A divided Supreme Court further advanced the cause of LGBTQ rights Monday, ruling that a landmark civil rights law barring sex discrimination in the workplace applies to gay, lesbian and transgender workers.

The decision was written by Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch, President Donald Trump's first nominee to the cour. He was joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and the court's four liberal justices. Associate Justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh dissented.
