Ignoring lies allows them to fester, but fighting back adds fuel to the fire.

Jews who are concerned about the rising tide of antisemitism are in a no-win situation.

On a daily basis, we are treated as the villain of various tales told by growing parts of both the left and right. At any given time, according to the internet, Jews are starving innocent people and committing genocide; facilitating the persecution of Christians in the Middle East or trying to outlaw Christianity in the United States; stifling free speech; or conspiring to bring about World War III.

At least two dozen people are feared to have been killed after gunmen indiscriminately fired at tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir on Tuesday in what local authorities called a terror attack, blaming militants fighting against Indian rule.

"This attack is much larger than anything we've seen directed at civilians in recent years," Omar Abdullah, the region's top elected official, wrote on social media. "The death toll is still being ascertained so I don't want to get into those details."

Mellona Takie can barely make it through a game of Uno these days, though on a recent afternoon she tries. Anything to keep her mind from going to a place so dark that she tried to take her own life in February, after the United States deported her, an East African, to Panama.

ā€œEven if I see something good, in my eyes, it’s bad,ā€ says the woman in her late 20s, who fled mandatory military service in Eritrea, under a totalitarian government, and planned to seek political asylum in the U.S.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has demanded El Salvador release hundreds of Venezuelans who were deported from the United States, who he described as being ā€œkidnapped,ā€ after his Salvadoran counterpart earlier proposed a prisoner swap.

Speaking on a television broadcast on Monday, Maduro demanded that Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele ā€œprovide proof of life for all the kidnapped young people,ā€ allow their families and lawyers to visit the mega-prison where they’re being kept, and to release them ā€œunconditionally.ā€

El Salvador's president has offered to repatriate 252 Venezuelans deported by the US and imprisoned in his country - if Venezuela releases the same number of political prisoners.

Nayib Bukele appealed directly to Venezuelan President NicolƔs Maduro in a post on social media.

He said many of the Venezuelan deportees had committed "rape and murder", while Venezuelan political prisoners were jailed only because they opposed Maduro, whose re-election last year is widely disputed.

Gang violence in Haiti has continued to further deteriorate the country's security and the crisis is reaching "a point of no return," according to the United Nations' top envoy for the Caribbean nation.

Maria Isabel Salvador, the special representative of the U.N. Secretary-General for Haiti, issued her warning Monday during a Security Council briefing in New York City.

The self-proclaimed ā€œworld’s coolest dictator,ā€ El Salvador’s president Nayib Bukele, is offering Venezuela’s president a prisoner swap — 252 detainees, including many deported to El Salvador from America, in exchange for 252 of NicolĆ”s Maduro’s political prisoners.

ā€˜The only reason they are imprisoned is because they opposed you and your electoral fraud,’ Nayib Bukele wrote in a taunting post to NicolĆ”s Maduro about detainees in Venezuela.

The UK Supreme Court is to deliver its verdict on how a woman should be defined in law.

The announcement marks the culmination of a long-running legal battle between the Scottish government and a women's group.

The outcome could have far-reaching implications on how sex-based rights apply across Scotland, England and Wales.

Donald Trump has blamed Volodymyr Zelensky for starting the war with Russia – a day after a massive Russian attack killed 35 people and injured 117 others in Ukraine.

The US president said the Ukrainian leader shared the blame with Russian President Vladimir Putin for "millions of people dead" in the Ukraine war.

"You don't start a war against someone 20 times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles," he told reporters at the White House, also blaming former US President Joe Biden for the conflict.
