BEIJING, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Preliminary findings showed that PVH Corp (PVH.N) , the parent company of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, engaged in "improper" conduct related to the Xinjiang region, China's commerce ministry said on Thursday, without elaborating.

The ministry plans to summon PVH in the near future, it said in a statement.

In September, China announced an investigation into PVH for suspected violations of market trading principles regarding Xinjiang-related products.

China has changed the names of hundreds of villages in Xinjiang region in a move aimed at erasing Uyghur Muslim culture, Human Rights Watch (HRW) says. BEIJING, June 18 (Reuters) - Flash floods in China's Changji on Tuesday engulfed a car, and four people are missing, Chinese state media reported, as heavy rains and mudslides in several parts of the country cause widespread destruction and trigger mass evacuations. Grace Forrest is the founding director of Walk Free, the Australian-based anti-slavery organization responsible for publishing the Global Slavery Index (GSI). The GSI provides national estimates of modern slavery for 167 countries, drawn from thousands of interviews with survivors collected through surveys and vulnerability assessments.
