HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The lovely 11-month-old Adalynd Lu Toler of Halifax County will represent Virginia in the Baby Miss USA National Pageant.

According to a Baby Miss USA Pageant spokesperson, Adalynd beat out over 1,000 other Virginia darlings, selected for her “exceptional natural beauty and charisma.”

Adalynd and others will be judged during the pageant on natural beauty, personality, smile and themed attire, according to the spokesperson.

When Braxton Clark was in high school, he used marijuana to control his emotions. At 17, he used it every day. 

When he was 18, he had a psychotic episode after using cannabis and was admitted to a hospital. He spent the next three years sober. Then one day he tried cannabis again. Before long, he was back in the hospital. 

“I had lost my faculties. I wasn’t making sense,” said Clark, now 24.

A large number of men are forgoing college, leading to an alarming gap between university-educated men and women, a new study found.

The Pew Research Center discovered a large drop in male Hispanic high school graduates turning away from four-year colleges. While 42 percent were in attendance in 2011, the number fell to 33 percent in 2022.

A new poll from The Economist/YouGov found 20% of young Americans surveyed think the Holocaust may have been a myth.

In that poll, 8% of Americans between the ages of 18 and 29 said they “strongly agree” that “the Holocaust is a myth,” while 12% said they “tend to agree.”

It was the highest rate among any age group; 0% of those 65 or older agreed with these statements.

There were also differences among different racial groups, with 13% of Black Americans saying they strongly or tend to agree and 5% of whites saying the same.

According to new polling, there has been a global and rapid rise in the number of people identifying as non-religious, especially among young adults. In the US, for example, 43% of 18-28-year-old Americans now identify as “nonbelievers”.

Shu Xiang, 21, started looking for a job in February and still has had no luck. A financial management major at a college in Chengdu, China, Ms. Shu said she has received five responses to about 100 applications. Graduation is in a few weeks.

“I’m not so confident about finding a job,” she said. The only thing that makes her feel less anxious, she said, is knowing she’s not alone — most of her classmates were facing similar problems.

A 17-year-old boy living in a Safety Harbor shelter for unaccompanied migrant children died on Wednesday after being transferred to Mease Countryside Hospital, according to Bill Pellan, director of investigations for the District Six Medical Examiner Office.

Pellan said further details of the boy’s death could not be released due to the ongoing investigation. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the active case and declined to release records.
