The Maryland State Police reported Monday that police arrested 34-year-old Jack LaSota, the alleged leader of a transgender murder cult linked to the killing of a Border Patrol agent in Vermont.

LaSota, a male, claims to identify as a woman and goes by "Ziz" and Andrea Phelps. The dangerous group refers to itself as the Zizians.

There’s never been a better time to cut back on meat. Over the last decade, we’ve seen alternative proteins transition from a niche product category to a whole industry in its own right. In a focus-group two decades ago a lady corrected me that ‘biodiversity’ was actually ‘biological washing powder’.  And even change-makers were convinced we’d never be able to talk about either flying or meat-consumption in relation to climate change.

KFC restaurants across the country will soon have plant-based chicken on the menu.

Beyond Fried Chicken will be offered at more than 4,000 KFC outlets for a limited time, starting Monday, January 10, KFC an supplier Beyond Meat announced Wednesday.

To be offered as a combo meal or a la carte in six- or 12-piece orders, the plant-based chicken won't "be prepared in a vegan/vegetarian manner," according to the release. 

Over the weekend, Republicans accused Joe Biden of trying to ban meat. The claim, which you’ve heard from the likes of Donald Trump Jr. and Texas Gov. Greg Abbot, is that Biden’s climate plan will prohibit Americans from chowing down on burgers in an effort to limit greenhouse gas emissions associated with industrial agriculture. On Fox News this Friday, former Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow warned of a Fourth of July where “you can throw back a plant-based beer with your grilled Brussels sprouts” (Kudlow doesn’t seem to be aware of what beer is made from). The vegan Impossible Burger isn’t vegan enough at Burger King.

That’s according to a class action lawsuit vegans are launching at the fast-food chain, which they say grills the meat imitation product on the same grill as its fleshy counterpart.

The suit, filed by Philip Williams of behalf of other vegans, claims that Burger King has “contaminated” the Impossible Burgers by exposing them to meat byproducts on the grill, according to the suit filed Monday in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

As concerns mount over the dangers of a rapidly warming planet, upstart food companies are targeting a major climate-damaging food: beef.

Beyond Meat and its privately held rival Impossible Foods have recently grabbed headlines and fast-food deals for their plant-based burgers that imitate the taste of beef.
