A satirical meme has resurfaced online making the false claim that American actors Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg and Sylvester Stallone have resigned from the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) to create a new union. Posts have shared photos of the actors alongside the caption: ā€œDenzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg, and Sylvester Stallone have all resigned from The Screen Actors Guild to create a new ā€˜no-woke’ union focused on traditional American values.ā€ Comments in response include: ā€œThis is good news,ā€ ā€œGreat men in today's corrupt world!!!!!ā€ and ā€œGood to hear. God Bless them...

The series, set in New Orleans, features Emmy-nominated Giancarlo Esposito (ā€Breaking Bad,ā€ ā€œThe Mandalorianā€) as Gray, a broken and broke driver with a criminal past who reluctantly returns to his shadowy ways to pay the bills and eventually avenge the death of his teenage son. Zachary Levi is confirming his support for SAG-AFTRA, as well as his love for the fans.

After the Shazam! Fury of the Gods star called the rules of the ongoing actors strike "so dumb" onstage at Manchester Comic-Con, he has since released a statement clarifying his stance.

Major films in production including Avatar and Gladiator sequels are looking likely to be affected by Hollywood actors taking strike action.

Promotional events such as red-carpet premieres will also be affected, such as Disney film Haunted Mansion, released later this month.

Events including the Emmys and Comic-Con may be rescheduled or scaled back.

In the industry's biggest shutdown for over 60 years, some 160,000 performers stopped work at midnight in LA.
