Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) launched a ā€œYou’re hiredā€ initiative to attract former federal workers fired by the Department of Government Efficiency.

Hochul has begun publicly positioning herself as a major Democratic opponent of President Donald Trump, clashing with him last week over his intervention to kill New York City’s controversial congestion pricing plan. She trolled the president again on Tuesday, flipping Trump’s famous catchphrase to attract workers laid off by Elon Musk’s DOGE.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has called a crisis meeting on Tuesday to weigh whether to remove Mayor Eric Adams from office following a series of overlapping scandals.

A top prosecutor in Manhattan last week alleged the New York City mayor had asked the Trump administration to drop a corruption case against him in exchange for his cooperation on immigration enforcement.

Four of Adams' top deputies, including the first deputy mayor, resigned on Monday after the Justice Department filed a motion to dismiss the criminal case against Adams.

Governor Kathy Hochul said on Monday she is considering removing New York City Mayor Eric Adams from office after four deputy mayors resigned over the Justice Department’s decision to dismiss his corruption charges, allegedly in exchange for his cooperation with immigration enforcement.

Last week, acting U.S. Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove ordered Manhattan prosecutors to drop their federal case against Adams. The Justice Department then moved to dismiss the criminal charges in a motion which U.S. District Judge Dale Ho has yet to approve.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signaled late Monday she may use her authority to remove New York City Mayor Eric Adams from office.

Hochul acknowledged in a statement that ousting Adams, a fellow Democrat, would be a "serious step" but said "alleged conduct at City Hall that has been reported over the past two weeks is troubling and cannot be ignored."

Hochul said she plans to meet with "key leaders" in Manhattan on Tuesday before issuing a decision.

This development comes after controversy surrounding Adams deepened...

State officials are working to reassure New York City’s business leaders following the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, an event that has deeply unsettled the corporate world.

Governor Kathy Hochul is organizing a virtual meeting on Tuesday with state law enforcement agencies and approximately 175 corporate representatives to discuss enhanced security measures and resource sharing.

A former aide to Gov. Kathy Hochul reportedly had her $3.5 million Long Island home raided by the FBI early Tuesday.

The feds carried out the pre-dawn search at the five-bedroom property where Linda Sun, one of Hochul’s former deputy chiefs of staff, lives in a gated community in Manhasset, the New York Times reported.

The reason for the raid wasn’t immediately clear.

President Biden won the public support of several Democratic governors who attended a meeting with him at the White House on Wednesday following his poorly received debate performance last week.

The big picture: With Biden facing growing pressure from some Democrats to abandon his re-election bid, the president held a meeting with all Democratic governors who attended either virtually or in person, including California's Gavin Newsom, New York's Kathy Hochul and Michigan's Gretchen Whitmer.

The Democratic governors of New York, Minnesota and Maryland, who were among the state leaders who met President Joe Biden on Wednesday, expressed confidence in him and said they had an honest discussion after Biden's debate performance.

"We were honest about the feedback that we were getting," Maryland Governor Wes Moore told reporters after the meeting at the White House. New York Governor Kathy Hochul said she felt confident after the meeting.

A group of 20 Democratic governors emerged from a Wednesday evening White House meeting expressing full support for President Biden as questions about whether he will remain at the top of the ticket continue to swirl.

The meeting was part of Mr. Biden’s outreach to save his reelection campaign and shore up support after last week’s train wreck debate with former President Donald Trump.

Vice President Kamala Harris, seen by many as the logical replacement if Mr. Biden were to step aside as the nominee, was also in the meeting.
