GovTrack, a website that tracks congressional voting records, removed a 2019 webpage that ranked then-Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) as the "most politically left" U.S. senator.

The Details: GovTrack founder Joshua Tauberer told Fox News Digital (Right bias) that the page was removed in the last two weeks since the company ended its single-year ratings of lawmakers “several years ago” in favor of ratings based on Congressional sessions, which are two years.

For Context: The assessment was part of GovTrack’s 2019 “Senate Report Cards,” and an archived version from July 4 can be found on Wayback Machine. GovTrack describes itself as a “government transparency website,” and per Wikipedia, it is a for-profit operation. The site’s 2020 report cards, which found Harris to be the second-most "politically left" senator, are still active on the site.

How The Media Covered It: The story was widely discussed on X. Owner Elon Musk wrote, “They’re trying so hard to erase the internet.” The story was not widely covered by established media outlets. AllSides did not find coverage from the left. Editor's Note: This roundup has been updated to use the "most politically left" terminology used in the study.

GovTrack, which tracks voting records of House and Senate lawmakers, removed a 2019 webpage that ranked then-Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., as the “most liberal” U.S. senator in 2019 at some point between July 10 and July 23 of this year.

Social media users have posted that the page was still live on July 22 but GovTrack has not confirmed the exact date the page was removed.

The website rated Harris the “most liberal compared to all senators” in 2019. Harris became vice president in January 2021.

GovTrack, an organization that tracks congressional voting records, confirmed to Fox News Digital it had removed a 2019 web page that ranked Kamala Harris as that year's "most liberal" U.S. senator sometime within the last two weeks.

The self-described "government transparency website" scored Harris as the "most liberal compared to all senators" in 2019, outranking Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren at the time.
