Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made three separate visits with President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump. Media across the spectrum tied the meetings to the dramatic American presidential race.

Key Quotes: A readout from the White House stated that Biden “expressed the need to… and reach a durable end to the war” and “raised the humanitarian crisis.” Harris, imploring Netanyahu to prioritize hostages and a ceasefire, said, “It is time for this war to end." Trump said, “If we win, it will be very simple. It’s all going to work out and very quickly… If we don’t we’re all going to end up with major wars.”

How the Media Covered It: Right media was critical of Harris. Fox News (Right bias) questioned why Harris “won’t say whether she’s also pushing terror group Hamas to relent at the negotiating table.” The New York Post (Lean Right bias) covered Trump saying Harris’ “remarks were disrespectful” to Israel. Washington Times (Lean Right bias) inferred that Netanyahu was “hedging his bets ahead of the fall election” by meeting both Harris and Trump.

The Hill (Center bias) covered Trump posting a letter he received from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas condemning the recent assassination attempt against him. BBC News (Center bias) and NewsNation (Center bias) opined that Harris struck a “tougher,” “forceful tone” than Biden; AP (Lean Left bias) said she was “more outspoken.” Politico (Lean Left bias) recalled that Trump had cursed out Netanyahu in 2021 after the prime minister was quick to congratulate Biden for his presidential victory.

Harris did not attend the prime minister's speech to Congress. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with President Joe Biden at the White House Thursday to discuss the U.S.-Israeli relationship amid tensions over the ongoing conflict in Gaza and a changing political landscape in the U.S. "Welcome back, Mr. Prime Minister. We got a lot to talk about," Biden said in brief remarks shortly before cameras left the room. Vice President Kamala Harris, who is seeking to succeed Biden, is scheduled to meet with Netanyahu later Thursday. She has been...

Former President Trump on Wednesday posted a letter from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Truth Social ahead of a meeting he will have later this week with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “It is with grave concern that I have received news and later on watched footage of your attempted assassination,” the letter from Abbas to Trump reads. “Acts of violence must not have a place in a world of law and order.” “Respect for the other with tolerance and valuing of human life is what must prevail,” Abbas...
