British Muslims voiced fear about far-right protests that have targeted UK mosques in recent days, as community leaders bolstered security at Islamic centres before more demonstrations planned for Saturday. Agitators have targeted Islamic places of worship since unsubstantiated rumours spread online that the teenage suspect behind a knife attack that killed three girls in northwest England on Monday was Muslim.

Nigel Farage has issued a message to Sir Keir Starmer after a series of riots broke out across Britain. The Reform UK leader said the Prime Minister "has not got an earthly clue" how to deal with the violence which has been seen over recent days. Riots erupted in Southport, London and Hartlepool after three children were stabbed to death on Monday. At a Downing Street press conference on Thursday afternoon, Starmer announced a national violent disorder programme would be launched across police forces after holding a meeting with police...

ā€œThese thugs are mobile, they move from community to community. We must have a policing response that can do the same. Shared intelligence, wider deployment of facial recognition technology and preventative action, criminal behaviour orders to restrict their movements, before they can even board a train. In just the same way that we do with football hooligans.ā€ He added: ā€œIn relation to preventative measures. One of the issues that came out this afternoon was criminal behaviour orders which can be attached to convictions for these sorts of offences, which then...

The Prime Minister has announced a "national capability across police forces to tackle violent disorder" in the wake of the riots which have rocked the UK in the last two days.

Violence had erupted on the streets of Southport, Hartlepool and London in the aftermath of a stabbing attack in the former - with police, mosques and individuals all targeted by mobs.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer will hold a news conference at 4pm this afternoon after meeting with police leaders over 'incidents of extreme violence and public disorder on our streets' in recent days. Starmer hit out at the 'mobs' responsible for violence in Southport and elsewhere in the country, including in London and Manchester, following the stabbings that killed three young girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party on Monday (July 29). He will speak about the gathering with policing leaders and take questions from the media following the scenes...

Keir Starmer is holding an emergency press conference in Downing Street at 4pm. The Prime Minister will address the nation after thugs attacked police across the country in the wake of the Southport stabbings. He met with senior police chiefs on Thursday afternoon where he told them "action will be taken'' following what he called "violent disorder'' in parts of England. At the meeting in No10, Mr Starmer told at least a dozen police bosses: "I wanted to send a message to each of you and through you, your officers,...

The prime minister has hit out at the "marauding mobs" responsible for violence in Southport and elsewhere in the country following the stabbings that killed three young girls and injured many more. At a meeting with police chiefs in Downing Street, Sir Keir Starmer said Southport community "are in raw pain and grief". They want answers and "I am determined we will provide answers", the prime minister vowed. PM vows 'action will be taken' to stop riots But he also hit out at those behind the riot in the Merseyside...

PM to offer ā€˜full backing’ to police chiefs as far-right activists attempt to stoke anger against Muslims and immigrants. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has convened police leaders for an emergency meeting following a second night of violent far-right protests after a stabbing spree in the town of Southport earlier in the week. Starmer called the meeting at Downing Street on Thursday to demonstrate the government’s ā€œfull backingā€ for police amid ā€œmultiple high-profile incidents of extreme violence and public disorder on our streetsā€, said an official statement.

The Met Police have revealed 111 arrests were made during Whitehall riots over the Southport mass stabbing - that saw bottles, flares and fists rain down on officers. The arrests were made for offences including violent disorder, assaults on police officers, possession of knives and offensive weapons and breach of protest conditions. Assistant Commissioner Matt Twist said: 'Last night our officers faced unacceptable scenes of disorder and violence, as others across the country have done in recent days. 'They acted with great courage and the highest levels of professionalism in...
