The Trump administration announced Monday it will “review” nearly $9 billion of federal funding for Harvard University and its affiliates, such as area hospitals, in an effort to “root out antisemitism,” according to the government’s antisemitism task force.

The Trump administration has opened an examination of the government’s financial relationship with Harvard University, an indication that the nation’s richest college could be the next to lose its federal contracts and grants over its handling of campus antisemitism.

Video of incendiary comments by one of the leaders of the student protest encampment at Columbia University surfaced online Thursday evening, forcing the school to again confront an issue at the core of the conflict rippling across campuses nationwide: the tension between pro-Palestinian activism and antisemitism.

A House vote to condemn antisemitism in the United States and worldwide showed the growing division among the chamber's Democrats, with 92 voting "present" rather than taking a position to support or oppose an included measure that declared "anti-Zionism is antisemitism. 

The resolution, presented by House Republicans, passed by 311 to 14 and drew support from all Republicans but one. Ninety-five Democrats voted to support the measure, reports The New York Times.
