The horrifying scene made national headlines — an armed man walking up to the front of a church and aiming a gun at the pastor in the middle of his Sunday sermon. He pulled the trigger. The pastor flinched and dove behind the pulpit. Witnesses heard a click, and then a miracle. The gun didn't fire. Deacon Clarence McCallister, who was operating a camera that recorded the entire ordeal on video, sprang into action, jumping over a railing to tackle the gunman before he had a chance to take another...

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday afternoon released video of a deputy fatally shooting a man who advanced toward deputies holding a knife during a March 23 deadly confrontation outside a Rio Linda home. Christopher Gilmore, 38, was shot to death in front of the home in the 6500 block of Campanile Street even though he posed no public threat and was suffering from a mental health crisis, lawyers representing Gilmore’s family have said. The lawyers last month released a one-minute video clip of the fatal shooting captured on...

Body camera videos that recorded the final chaotic moments of Daniel Vallee's life were at the center of the first day of trial Tuesday for the two Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies charged with unjustly killing him on a Marrero street in 2022. Jurors watched on video as Vallee, 34, sat behind the wheel of a parked SUV with his hands raised, nervously eyeing the deputies who surrounded his vehicle, while they were responding to a noise complaint outside of a crack house. "Y'all trying to shoot me. Y'all trying...

Prosecution and defense attorneys giving opening statements Tuesday morning in the trial of two former Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputies — accused of illegally killing a man during a tense confrontation on Marrero street — employed the same phrase to different effect when describing Daniel Vallee's death: "Nobody needed to die." Jefferson Parish Assistant District Attorney Rachel Africk told jurors that defendants Johnaton Louis, 37, and Isaac Hughes, 31, had options other than deadly force when the then-deputies responded to a noise complaint during the early morning hours of Feb.

A momma bear and cubs found a large tree to scratch on and a clean pool to take a dip in when visiting the backyard of a Monrovia home Monday. Video recorded by @RICKYMARTINEZ87 and shared with KTLA showed the three bears wandering up the backyard pool around 12:30 p.m. when momma bear decided to cool off in the water. The baby bears were not as sure about jumping in and stayed poolside to watch their mother go for a swim. Several videos of the visit were posted, including recordings...

ELIZABETH, N.J. -- Friday was sentencing day for an Elizabeth man convicted of attempted murder during a road rage incident in 2022. Fifty-seven-year-old Vincent Jean was sentenced to 25 years in state prison. Jean must serve at least 19-and-a-half years before being eligible for parole. Back in February, he was found guilty of multiple charges, including attempted murder, for running over a 23-year-old woman in Elizabeth. The incident happened on April 12, 2022 and was all captured on surveillance video. Jean was trying to back down Salem Avenue to avoid...

SAN FRANCISCO — A little over a month after suing a Spanish bootlegger who allegedly uploaded 10 videos of Bad Bunny to YouTube from his Salt Lake City show, the reggaeton performer has dropped the suit. Benito Antonio Martinez, Bad Bunny's real name, dropped the suit he had filed against Eric Guillermo Madroñal Garrone of Madrid, Spain, on Thursday. The Puerto Rican performer had filed the original lawsuit in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, California, on March 8. The two-page filing noted that "the infringing videos" had been removed...

Indiana State University is speaking out after a student's critique against Beyoncé becoming a Black female country artist went viral. According to ABC 33/40 , WISH-TV , and WFIU , the video in which the student said remarks such as "I'm sorry, but if you're Black, you're not country" was posted after the singer released her album in late March. University president Deborah J. Curtis said in a statement issued on Wednesday, April 10, that upon learning of the video's existence, her staff "immediately worked with the Vice President of...

First lady Jill Biden unveiled her White House Christmas decorations Wednesday night in a video of tap dancers performing what she called a “playful interpretation of The Nutcracker Suite.”

Highlighting this year’s theme of “Magic, Wonder and Joy,” Biden told viewers to “enjoy” the performance by the “talented tappers of Dorrance Dance.”

While there were some positive reactions, praising the first lady for her “playful creative side” and for the “incredible” performance, the comments were overwhelmingly negative.
