She called the allegation "a malicious and cowardly assault on the truth." Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk, chairman of the House Administration's subcommittee on Oversight, in a new report suggests former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney should be investigated for alleged criminal witness tampering, claiming she played an "integral role" shaping key witness testimony before the Jan. 6 committee investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol by a pro-Trump mob. President-elect Donald Trump posted early Wednesday morning on his social media platform that "Liz Cheney could be in a lot of trouble...

That the incoming Trump administration will go after its political enemies, using all levers of state power to intimidate and persecute those who previously sought to hold the president-elect accountable, can no longer be portrayed as hysterical speculation, nor as something that would surely be opposed by cooler heads in a Republican-led Congress. Donald Trump ran as the candidate of ā€œrevengeā€ and "retribution," filling his meandering campaign speeches with complaints about those who had investigated him over his connections with Russia and incitement of the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Former Republican Representative Liz Cheney hit back hard at Rep. Barry Loudermilk’s call for her to be criminally investigated for her part in the House Select Committee investigation into January 6th. Loudermilk chaired the Committee on House Administration’s Subcommittee, which released an interim report on his findings on the events surrounding January 6, 2021, and his investigation into the politicization of the January 6th Select Committee.

President-elect Trump predicted there’s ā€œtroubleā€ in sight for former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), after a recent report from House Republicans recommended a criminal investigation into the ex-lawmaker over her role in the House panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. ā€œLiz Cheney could be in a lot of trouble based on the evidence obtained by the subcommittee, which states that ā€˜numerous federal laws were likely broken by Liz Cheney, and these violations should be investigated by the FBI,ā€™ā€ Trump wrote in an early Wednesday morning post on...

Donald Trump is not yet in office, but his not-so-slow rolling train of political retaliation against his rivals has already left the station. After filing a lawsuit against an Iowa newspaper over its poll showing Kamala Harris leading Trump in Iowa, the president-elect has now endorsed an FBI probe into former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney over her work on the House Jan. 6 committee. ā€œLiz Cheney could be in a lot of trouble based on the evidence obtained by the subcommittee, which states that ā€˜numerous federal laws were likely broken...

Donald Trump has claimed ex-Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney ā€œcould be in a lot of troubleā€ after a House GOP subcommittee called for her to be investigated by the Justice Department over her stewardship of the panel that examined the Capitol riot of January 6 2021, accusing her of witness tampering by ā€œcolludingā€ with Cassidy Hutchinson on her testimony. The president-elect posted the taunt on his Truth Social platform, thanking Congressman Barry Loudermilk, who led the subcommittee and produced the interim report, for ā€œa job well doneā€. Cheney herself has already...

Georgia Rep. Barry Loudermilk released a report Tuesday claiming that former Rep. Liz Cheney and the January 6th Select Committee mishandled their investigation into the 2021 Capitol attack. Loudermilk, who leads the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, also accused federal agencies of security failures, intelligence lapses, and obstructing inquiries into key aspects of the events. What’s Happening: Loudermilk’s report alleges that Cheney communicated directly with Cassidy Hutchinson, a former White House aide and key witness, without the knowledge of Hutchinson’s attorney.

Liz Cheney likely broke 'numerous federal laws' and should be investigated by the FBI for witness tampering, a Republican-led report published Tuesday found. House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman, Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., was tasked with investigating the now-disbanded January 6 Select Committee led by Cheney and others when Democrats and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi controlled the House from 2019 - 2023.
