Investigators released hundreds of images from inside and around Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa Hackman's Santa Fe estate as part of evidence released by New Mexico authorities. Gene and Betsy's bodies were discovered at home on Feb. 26 after neither had been heard from in weeks. Officials documented more than 700 images of the Hackman home, in addition to a detailed incident report which included evidence of dead rodents, rodent feces and live traps throughout multiple buildings on the property. Betsy, a classical pianist, died of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, according...

Betsy Arakawa, wife of the late actor Gene Hackman, allegedly had health concerns in the days leading up to the couple's death, according to reports. Following the Tuesday release of death investigation records by New Mexico police, an investigative report shows Arakawa — who was found dead alongside Hackman at their Santa Fe residence in February — made repeated online searches about illness symptoms, according to The Associated Press and The New York Times. In a March 31 ruling, a New Mexico judge allowed the release of media records from...

The New Mexico property where Hollywood legend Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa were found dead in February was infested with rodents carrying the deadly hantavirus, according to recent findings. The couple's bodies were discovered on February 26 at their Santa Fe estate after a maintenance worker alerted authorities. An environmental assessment conducted by the New Mexico Department of Public Health has revealed the property was a "breeding ground for infestation," with evidence of rodents throughout the outbuildings.

While carbon monoxide poisoning was considered an early cause of death, since one of their dogs was found dead too, that was later ruled out. It was later concluded that Arakawa died from hantavirus pulmonary syndrome first, around February 12,...

The New Mexico property where actor Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa were found dead in February appears to have been infested with rodents that carry the deadly hantavirus responsible for her death. Rodent feces were found in three garages, two casitas, and three sheds on their Santa Fe estate, according to TMZ. The New Mexico Department of Public Health also reportedly discovered one living rodent and a dead one in those garages. There was no sign of critter activity inside the house, though evidence of their presence was...
