Journal Island, the 6-acre Buckeye Lake retreat, has been sold by the Wolfe family, the former owners of The Columbus Dispatch who owned the island for more than a century. The family sold the property on April 4 for an undisclosed amount to an entity called Buckeye Lake Islands LLC, according to a deed filed with the Fairfield County Recorder. Brian Kemp, the Keller Williams Capital Partners agent who listed the island in August for $5.75 million, said he could not discuss the property or any transaction. The Wolfe family...

• The OhioDance Festival will feature concerts on April 25-27 in Ohio State's Sullivant Hall. • Native Hawaiian choreographer Christopher Kaui Morgan will be the guest artist, performing his solo show, "Rice." Styles range from African dance accompanied by live musicians to flamenco, ballet and everything in between at the OhioDance Festival, a three-day celebration of the art form.

Did Ukraine start the war with Russia? Is DOGE capable of cutting two trillion dollars from the Federal budget? Did the US send $50 million in condoms to Gaza? Were the January 6 insurrectionists traitors or patriots? The thunderous second Trump administration has introduced as much uncertainty as the last. And that’s on top of the enduring claims and counter-claims about the reality of climate change, the results of the 2020 election, and the matter of gender and sexuality.

(Reuters) - Amazon has paused some data center lease talks for its cloud division, particularly in overseas markets, suggesting a short-term slowdown in leasing for large-scale facilities, Wells Fargo analysts said April 20. The move by the largest U.S. cloud company is the latest sign that rising economic uncertainty could be forcing companies to rethink how they spend the billions of dollars they have earmarked for AI infrastructure including pricey Nvidia chips. Amazon has an expansive data center footprint across central Ohio. In March, Marysville approved an agreement with the...

A Cincinnati steakhouse is expected to open its first location in Columbus. Losanti, a restaurant based at 1401 Race St. in Cincinnati, will make its way to Columbus. According to building developers, the restaurant will open at 440 W. Broad St., also known as the Gravity development, which previously was the location of Taft's Brewing Co. Kaufman Development, a real estate firm and developers of Gravity, confirmed that Losanti will be coming to Columbus. "Losanti is a fantastic, highly-reviewed crowd favorite in Cincinnati, and we're excited to welcome them to...

Half a century ago, the young Columbus architect Gene Milhoan designed a strikingly contemporary home for his family off Olentangy Road in the Worthington area. With its towering unconventional shapes, the home remains so unusual that it attracted about 2 million viewers on Zillow Gone Wild when it was recently listed by Jeff Mahler, with the Brokerage House. And now, in an odd twist, the sale could send Milhoan back to the home after his long and successful architectural career. "It’s been almost 40 years since I sold it, but...

• The Delaware brewery beat out other popular breweries, including Columbus Brewing Co. and BrewDog. • Owners Liz and Donald Staas have resisted expanding, prioritizing quality of life. Staas Brewing Co. has more in common with a well-known 1980s TV sitcom bar than the font on a T-shirt which, for the record and the benefit of any litigious network executives who happen to be reading, owner Donald Staas sees absolutely no similarity. Staas probably won't argue with this observation, though. At his Delaware brewery, everybody does know your name. Staas...

• Vietnam veteran Greg Gorrell, after decades of silence, has published a book about his wartime experiences and the challenges of returning home. • Motivated by the dwindling number of Vietnam veterans, Gorrell, 80, wrote "Vietnam - Survival; There & Home" to preserve their stories. • The book details Gorrell's time in combat, the impact of anti-war sentiment on his return, and his journey to healing. • Gorrell will be signing copies of his book at various locations in Ashland. When Greg Gorrell returned to the United States from a...
