An explosion at a Virginia home on Friday night left one firefighter dead and 11 others injured, including nine firefighters, according to officials. Videos of the site of the explosion shared on social media show scenes of total devastation, with a plume of smoke rising from the ground where the house used to be. A Virginia firefighter is dead, and eleven others are injured after a home explosion obliterated a residence on Friday evening. In a press conference, Loudon County Fire & Rescue Assistant Chief of Operations James Williams said that one firefighter is dead, nine firefighters, and two civilians are injured after the explosion "totally devastated" a home in northern Virginia. After a massive explosion leveled a home in a huge fireball during a police standoff, attention has now turned to the man who lived there—and his disturbing social media posts.

Officers were called to the duplex in Arlington, Virginia, around 4:45 p.m. on Monday following reports that shots from a flare gun had been repeatedly fired from the property. Investigators obtained a search warrant, but more shots were fired from inside the property as officers prepared to enter it and the building exploded shortly before 8:30 p.m.

A huge explosion has destroyed at least one home in a suburb of Washington DC as police executed a search warrant, authorities said.

Officers were called to the home in Arlington, Virginia, at 16:45 EST (21:45 GMT) on Monday after reports of someone firing a flare gun.

When they tried to enter, there were shots fired then a big explosion.

Officers on the scene reported only minor injuries while the suspect inside the home is unaccounted for.

The fire department extinguished the blaze.

A deadly explosion near the New York-Canadian border after a car went airborne has been referred to Niagara Falls police as a traffic investigation after no explosives or connection to terrorism were found, the FBI said Wednesday night.

Two people in the car were killed in the fiery incident on the Rainbow Bridge, which leads into and out of Canada at Niagara Falls, that occurred minutes before 11:30 a.m., officials said.

A speeding car crashed in flames on the bridge linking New York state and Ontario at Niagara Falls on Wednesday, killing two people in the vehicle and sparking a security scare that closed four U.S.-Canadian border crossings.

Hours later, federal and state authorities said investigators had found no evidence of an act of terrorism, though circumstances surrounding the crash on the Rainbow Bridge remained murky, leaving it to be determined whether it was accidental or intentional.

A massive blast rocked a Gaza City hospital packed with wounded and other Palestinians seeking shelter Tuesday, killing hundreds of people, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said. Hamas blamed an Israeli airstrike, while the Israeli military blamed a rocket misfired by other Palestinian militants.

At least 500 people were killed, the ministry said.

SpaceX’s Starship exploded a few minutes after launching an initial, uncrewed test flight on Thursday morning, abruptly ending the inaugural flight of a vehicle that Elon Musk wants to use one day for pioneering deep-space missions.

The company launched the uncrewed rocket at roughly 9:30 a.m. ET from a launchpad in South Texas, according to a SpaceX live stream. A trail of flames poured out of the engines installed on the booster used for the first stage of the flight.
