Joe Biden is the 46th President of the United States.

Biden is a candidate in the 2024 presidential election. He is running for reelection as a Democrat.

Biden represented Delaware in the United States Senate from 1973 to 2009. He ran for the Democratic nomination in the 2008 election, losing to Barack Obama. Biden would go on to serve as Vice President under Obama from 2009 to 2017. President Biden all but admitted he was pushed out of the presidential race by Democratic Party elites and specifically name-dropped former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in his first TV interview since the tectonic news last month.

Biden said that Dems in the House and Senate were worried that he’d drag down their chances of being reelected. He said he believed his reelection bid would face too many distractions if he carried on.

WASHINGTON (AP) — and next week will make their first trip together since Biden ended his candidacy and Harris took over as the Democratic standard-bearer. The White House announced Friday morning that Biden and Harris will head to Maryland on Aug. 15 for an event to “discuss the progress they are making to lower costs for the American people.” They did not disclose the location or more specifics. Biden and Harris have appeared briefly together since on July 21, including an last week to welcome home U.S. citizens who were...

ederal prosecutors alleged in a new court filing Wednesday that Hunter Biden agreed to lobby US officials on behalf of a Romanian businessman facing criminal investigations back home.

The new accusation came from special counsel David Weiss, who is prosecuting Hunter Biden for alleged tax evasion. The case, scheduled for trial in September, touches on many of Hunter Biden’s controversial foreign business dealings, sometimes while his father was in office.

Prosecutors in the U.S. criminal tax case against Hunter Biden accused him of accepting payments from a Romanian businessman who sought to "influence U.S. government agencies" in connection with a criminal probe in Romania.

The U.S. Department of Justice made the allegation in a Wednesday filing in Los Angeles federal court, where U.S. President Joe Biden's son faces a scheduled Sept. 9 trial over tax evasion charges. He has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors in special counsel David Weiss' office are accusing Hunter Biden of accepting payments from a Romanian businessman who was attempting to "influence U.S. government agencies," while his father Joe Biden was vice president.

If true, the allegation would mark the closest prosecutors have come to tying President Joe Biden to his son's overseas business endeavors -- a matter congressional Republicans have spent years scrutinizing.

Pro-Israel advocacy groups and dual U.S.-Israeli citizens have filed a lawsuit challenging President Joe Biden's order subjecting individuals involved in settler violence in the West Bank to financial and immigration sanctions.

The complaint filed in Amarillo, Texas, federal court on Tuesday says the executive order that Biden, a Democrat, issued in February violates the plaintiffs' free-speech rights under the U.S. Constitution and illegally interferes with the exercise of their religious beliefs.

President Biden formally unveiled his planned overhaul of the Supreme Court on Monday — with a clear eye on limiting the powers of former President Donald Trump should he succeed him.

The commander-in-chief took the unusual step of unveiling his major planned policy steps in a newspaper op-ed, with the Washington Post helpfully telling readers: “The writer is president of the United States.”

The president laid out three main changes to the court — which he said is “mired in a crisis of ethics” — including term limits and a binding code of conduct.

It’s not often that a politician takes a step back.

They are often their own biggest champions. But in rare cases, when the writing is on the wall, because of age, health — or politics, they do.

In an address to the nation from the Oval Office Wednesday night, President Biden said he will serve out his term as president, noting there are still things he wants to accomplish. But he explained that he is not seeking reelection, in part, because he wants to “pass the torch to a new generation.”

President Biden welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House Thursday — a day after chaotic anti-Israel protests near the Capitol.

“Welcome back, Mr. Prime Minister, we got a lot to talk about, I think we should get to it — the floor is yours,” the 81-year-old president said in his only introductory remarks after shaking Netanyahu’s hand.

“From a proud Jewish Zionist to a proud Irish-American Zionist, I want to thank you for 50 years of public service and 50 years of support for the state of Israel,” Netanyahu said.
