Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) has been charged for pulling a fire alarm in a House office building ahead of a government spending vote last month, authorities said on Wednesday.
D.C.’s attorney general said the Democrat faces a violation of District of Columbia code and issued a booking order for a judicial summons on Thursday. Bowman has been hit with one misdemeanor count of falsely pulling a fire alarm on September 30.
Bowman previously released a statement insisting that he made a mistake in pulling the fire alarm and saying he “sincerely apologize for any confusion this caused.”
