Michael Rubens Bloomberg (born February 14, 1942) is an American business magnate, politician and philanthropist. He is the former Mayor of New York City, having served three consecutive terms from 2002-2013. With a net worth of $51.8 billion, he is also the 8th-richest person in the United States. He is the founder, CEO, and owner of Bloomberg L.P., the global financial data and media company most famous for its Bloomberg Terminal.
