
The National Weather Service issued a report at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday for strong thunderstorms until 3:15 p.m. for Tuscaloosa County. Wind gusts of up to 40 mph and pea-sized hail (0.25 inches) are expected. "At 2:45 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Northport, moving northeast at 25 mph," states the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."
