President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday establishing a federal task force aimed at reducing the costs of in vitro fertilization and expanding access to the fertility treatment. The order directs the Domestic Policy Council to develop policy recommendations within 90 days to protect IVF access and lower out-of-pocket expenses, Reuters reported. ā€œIt is the policy of my Administration to ensure reliable access to IVF treatment, including by easing unnecessary statutory or regulatory burdens to make IVF treatment drastically more affordable,ā€ the executive order states.

The University of Alabama has ushered in a new era of philosophical enlightenment that doesn’t merely ponder the meaning of life but demands we finally confront the great, unspoken tyranny of our time: sizism. Yes, dear reader, in a world beset by trivial concerns like war, economic collapse, and the creeping erosion of civil liberties, the real struggle is taking place in the narrow confines of an airplane seat. Finally, academia has found the courage to ask the pressing question: Why does the world refuse to make space for us?...

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — In the most anticipated college basketball game ever played in Alabama, No. 1 Auburn secured a massive win over No. 2 Alabama. The Tigers never trailed on Saturday afternoon, making their first shot of the game en route to a 94-85 win over the Crimson Tide. Auburn (23-2, 11-1) now has sole possession of first place in the SEC and is in a strong position to win the league’s regular-season title. Alabama (21-4, 10-2) is still in the mix but has some work to do to catch...

The federal agency that enforces workplace anti-discrimination laws has moved to dismiss its own lawsuit on behalf of a worker allegedly fired for his sexual orientation and gender identity, arguing that the case now conflicts with President Donald Trump's recent executive order, according to court documents. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Thursday filed a joint motion to dismiss its case against Harmony Hospitality LLC, which operates a Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel in Dothan, Alabama, just eight months after the agency sued the company over its firing of an...

Shaquille O’Neal let it rip Thursday night during the ā€œInside the NBAā€ on TNT. O’Neal and Charles Barkley raced to the big board during the broadcast in front of a live audience in San Francisco. For the record, Shaq won the race, but it was what he said when he got back to the desk that had people’s attention. ā€œIn the words of Marshawn Lynch, I’m tired as (s-word), America. We’re getting fired anyway, Ernie, (f-word) it!ā€ O’Neal’s co-hosts — Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson — appeared to be...

Dear Eric: I belong to a small book club that now comprises six older women. All of us have been with the group for more than 30 years. For the most part, we all get along and enjoy the variety of books that are selected to be read each year. We have one member who is very opinionated about everything and does not hesitate to let her thoughts be known to us all. Often, she snaps and uses a tone that is loud and unyielding to any other perspective or...

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Some Huntsville, Alabama, residents saw a $100 increase in their electric bills after a recent executive order signed by President Donald Trump. Newsweek reached out to the Community Action Partnership of Huntsville/Madison & Limestone Counties via email for comment.

Blue Origin is cutting 10% of its workforce nationwide, a move that is likely to affect its engine production operation in Huntsville. In an email sent to employees and obtained by The Huntsville Times, CEO Dave Limp wrote the company was laying off ā€œabout 10%ā€ of its workforce. He wrote the layoffs would be concentrated in engineering, research and development, and program/project management roles, and would include management positions. ā€œWe grew and hired incredibly fast in the last few years, and with that growth came more bureaucracy and less focus...

CONWAY -- Once the pedal was down, there was no letting up for the University of Central Arkansas women's basketball team. UCA opened with a lopsided run, hit shots from all over the court and hoarded offensive rebounds to defeat North Alabama 73-52 on Wednesday night at the Farris Center. The Sugar Bears (18-6, 12-1 Atlantic Sun Conference) began the game with a 12-4 spurt, started by back-to-back three-pointers by Jade Upshaw. The senior guard converted that momentum into 11 first-quarter points. UCA typically likes to push the pace at...
