Man fatally struck by cargo train in N.J. city, officials say

A man was killed Wednesday night when a cargo train struck him in Camden, according to Dan Keashen, a spokesman for the Camden County Police Department.

The man, who was not identified, was hit on Conrail tracks in the area of Carl Miller Boulevard and South 6th Street around 7 p.m., officials said.

No other information about the incident was released.

Keashen said around 9 p.m. that the intersection would be closed for several hours.

The Township of Montclair will hold a free rabies vaccination clinic on Monday, April 21. The clinic will be held at the Montclair Animal Shelter located at 77 North Willow St. from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
