In a new court filing from the ongoing defamation lawsuit against Fox News (Right Bias), Fox Corporation chairman Rupert Murdoch states that certain Fox hosts endorsed unproven fraud claims following the 2020 election, and that Fox News allowed MyPillow founder Mike Lindell to appear on Fox programs in part because of his advertising contributions to the network.

For Context: Dominion Voting Systems is suing Fox News for defamation, claiming the media network reported unproven information linking Dominion technology to unproven allegations of widespread fraud in the 2020 election. Fox News denies the allegations, claiming they fairly reported on existing theories and calling the lawsuit a violation of the First Amendment.

Details: “It is not red or blue, it is green,” Murdoch is quoted stating when asked why Lindell appeared on Tucker Carlson (Right Bias)’s program and made unsubstantiated claims of fraud. Murdoch states that it was “wrong” to have Lindell on the network, but adds that he “pays us a lot of money.” Murdoch called some of the election fraud allegations “bulls**t and damaging” and stated that “some of our commentators were endorsing it.” Last month, another court filing revealed private text messages from Fox News hosts casting doubts on the unproven fraud allegations featured on their programs. Responding to Murdoch’s statements, former president Donald Trump called Murdoch a “MAGA Hating Globalist RINO.”

How The Media Covered It: The filing was almost entirely ignored by right-rated outlets, following a trend previously reported by AllSides.

Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch admitted in a deposition that some Fox News hosts "endorsed" false election conspiracy theories but he chose not to stop them, according to unsealed court documents in Dominion Voting Systems' $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against the network.

"They endorsed," Murdoch said in the deposition in response to questions about hosts Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, Lou Dobbs and Maria Bartiromo.

Rupert Murdoch said some Fox News hosts and commentators endorsed the false narrative that the 2020 election was stolen, according to testimony in an ongoing defamation lawsuit.

Voting-machine company Dominion Voting Systems is suing Fox News and Fox Corp. FOX for defamation, over false on-air claims that its technology enabled widespread fraud in the election. The new details emerged in briefs in which the companies laid out evidence they plan to present to a Delaware state court.

Donald Trump flew into a rage at Rupert Murdoch on Tuesday morning for admitting in a deposition that Fox anchors 'endorsed' election fraud 'lies'.

The former president accused the billionaire media magnate of 'throwing his anchors under the table' over his comments in sworn testimony as part of Dominion Voting Systems' $1.6 billion lawsuit.

In his comments on Truth Social, Trump claimed Murdoch is 'killing his case' and 'infuriating his viewers' who will be 'again leaving in droves'.
