"60 Minutes" host Scott Pelley pressed the co-founders of Moms for Liberty on sexually explicit books in schools during a combative segment that aired Sunday.  

"We love teachers," Moms for Liberty co-founder Tina Descovich told Pelley. "My children have had the best teachers. I've had the greatest teachers that have influenced and impacted me." 

"But there are rogue teachers in America's classrooms right now," Descovich added. 

Outspoken GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) doubled down on calling Democrats “pedophiles,” blasted establishment Republicans and demanded that the US stop the flow of aid money to Ukraine in a wide-ranging and fiery “60 Minutes” interview Sunday.

Taylor Greene, also known as MTG, made numerous controversial comments during her sit-down with veteran reporter Lesley Stahl — and was promptly panned by many across social media.

President Joe Biden said he believes the Covid-19 pandemic is "over" in an appearance on CBS' "60 Minutes," but acknowledged the US still has a "problem" with the virus that has killed more than 1 million Americans.

"The pandemic is over. We still have a problem with Covid. We're still doing a lot of work on it. It's -- but the pandemic is over," Biden said.

President Biden attempted to downplay the U.S. inflation crisis during a "60 Minutes" interview, claiming that the month-to-month rate has "hardly" risen – which prompted his CBS interviewer to dispute his response.

CBS correspondent Scott Pelley asked: "Mr. President, as you know, last Tuesday, the annual inflation rate came in at 8.3%. The stock market nosedived. People are shocked by their grocery bills. What can you do better and faster?"

President Joe Biden said the U.S. military would defend Taiwan if the island was invaded by Chinese forces, in a broad-ranging interview on CBS 60 Minutes broadcast on Sunday where he also said the Covid-19 pandemic was now “over” and chided his predecessor’s handling of critical government documents.

Biden told CBS that U.S. forces will defend Taiwan in the event of an “unprecedented attack” and when pressed on if this meant sending troops to defend the island from a Chinese invasion, Biden said “yes”.

Mark T. Esper, who served Donald Trump as defense secretary, alleges in a new book that he witnessed the former president in the Oval Office suggesting that members of the military should shoot protesters “in the legs or something.” Esper suggests others were present during that meeting.

Trump denies it. He says those witnesses present would back him up.

As it turns out, this is something that Congress might investigate and try to settle, one way or the other. Will Democrats act?

How fitting. The latest example is Mark Esper, who would be the worst Secretary of Defense ever if not for the determined competition from the current one.

Former Defense Secretary Mark Esper told CBS in an interview broadcast Sunday he helped prevent a series of "dangerous things that could have taken the country in a dark direction" during his time in the Trump administration.

Driving the news: When CBS' Norah O'Donnell asked Esper during the "60 Minutes" interview for examples, he cited a proposal to "take military action against Venezuela," to "strike Iran" and, "at one point, somebody proposed we blockade Cuba."
