The story of the 2024 election is looking deeply strange.

Donald Trump boasts a small but significant lead over Joe Biden in national polls, while also besting the president in most surveys of battleground states. By itself, this is less than shocking. Voters have long disapproved of the president, lamented inflation, and expressed more faith in Trump’s capacity to manage the economy.

If the Trump coalition’s formidable size is unsurprising, however, the same can’t be said of its demographic composition. 

Charlie Kirk fanned the flames of racial controversy on his show recently when, for some inexplicable reason, he decided to make the asinine comment that he gets frightened and has concerns whenever he sees black pilots. He was trying to make a point about the Left’s racial hierarchy initiatives, such as the diversity, equity, and inclusion movement, or DEI. For anyone unfamiliar, it’s an extremist left-wing objective that promotes the advancement of people based on skin color, regardless of merit. 

Black Americans see a range of problems with how Black people are covered in the news, and few are hopeful that will change in the foreseeable future, according to a new Pew Research Center survey of nearly 5,000 Black adults.

On several questions, Black Americans are far more likely to view news coverage of Black people in a negative rather than positive light:

Almost two-thirds of Black adults (63%) say news about Black people is often more negative than news about other racial and ethnic groups; 28% say it is about equal and 7% say it is often more positive.

Barack Obama has criticized two Republican presidential hopefuls, the South Carolina senator Tim Scott and the former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, over their stances on race relations in America.

In a podcast interview, Obama, who became the first Black US president when he was elected in 2008, said that while presenting a hopeful message on race relations was important, “that has to be undergirded with an honest accounting of our past and our present”.

Scott is the only Black candidate in the 2024 Republican presidential primary race and Haley is Indian American.

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) took a jab at former President Obama this week after the Democrat criticized the declared 2024 GOP presidential contender over his remarks about race and racial progress in the country.

“Let us not forget we are a land of opportunity, not a land of oppression. Democrats deny our progress to protect their power. The Left wants you to believe faith in America is a fraud and progress in our nation is a myth,” Scott said in a statement Thursday.

Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina filed paperwork Friday to run for president in 2024, officially throwing his hat into a growing Republican primary lineup that former President Donald Trump has so far led.

Scott is expected to announce his presidential campaign on Monday morning in North Charleston. He made it official Friday morning when he filed a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission designating a principal campaign committee for a presidential bid.

The filing comes ahead of a formal announcement that is expected to take place Monday in South Carolina.

Scott filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission on Friday, all but guaranteeing that the South Carolina senator is preparing to enter the GOP primary to win the White House.

The FEC filing was done in advance of his Monday announcement in order to launch a $6 million ad buy, Scott's newly launched campaign told the Washington Examiner.
