Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry resigned on Thursday as a new council was sworn in to lead the country gripped by deadly gang violence.

A recent outbreak of violence forced officials to move the ceremony from the National Palace to the outgoing prime minister's office.

Mr Henry agreed to step down last month after armed groups blocked his return to the country.

Gangs now control most of the capital, Port-au-Prince.

China is taking a page out of the U.S. historic playbook by flexing its economic and military muscles in the Western Hemisphere, with the goal of pulling U.S. neighbors to its side. New documents show that Beijing appears to be attempting to establish its own satellite state in the Caribbean.

Department of Homeland Security personnel raided the residences of rap mogul Sean Combs amid a plethora of allegations of sex trafficking and other offenses.

Raids were carried out in properties belonging to Combs, known professionally as Diddy, in Miami and Los Angeles. The raids were carried out on a warrant from New York, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Over the last few months, a legendary name in the music world has faced a series of shocking allegations of sexual abuse.

In civil lawsuits, four women have accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of rape, assault and a litany of other abuses, dating back three decades. One of the allegations involved a minor. The claims sent shock waves through the music industry and put Combs’ entertainment empire in jeopardy.

Now, the hip-hop mogul’s legal troubles have worsened considerably.

Hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, 54, has not landed in the Caribbean island of Antigua despite reports he could have arrived there aboard a private jet, the island's Prime Minister Gaston Browne told Newsweek.

"There is no credible information that he is here. To the contrary, he did not arrive on the flight yesterday to Antigua," Browne said in a message.

The Caribbean island of Hispaniola, shared by Haiti and the Dominican Republic, has been divided for centuries, sometimes bitterly, by language, race, history and culture. As Haiti descends further into chaos and collapse, the divides are becoming concrete—literally. The Dominican Republic is speeding up work on a wall along the 250-mile border cutting across the interior of the island.

Dominican President Luis Abinader is aiming to block human smugglers or criminals from crossing the border.
