A decade ago, Ivanka Trump offered her Twitter followers a bit of wisdom from one of the world’s favorite geniuses to impress her legions of Twitter followers. “If the facts don’t fit the theory, change the facts. — Albert Einstein.”

There was one problem: Einstein never said that.

Few noticed the tweet, let alone the mistake. That is until Einstein himself returned from the dead to correct her, in a comment on the post.

CNN is facing a "a fury of criticism" from its own employees for airing a town hall with former President Trump on Wednesday, according to the network’s own media reporter. 

"It's hard to see how America was served by the spectacle of lies that aired on CNN," Oliver Darcy wrote in CNN’s "Reliable Sources" newsletter. 

CNN CEO Chris Licht on Thursday defended the network’s decision to host its town hall with Donald Trump as staff woke up to a blizzard of criticism about the calamitous broadcast, during which the former president regurgitated his lies about the 2020 election, distorted his record in office, and mocked a woman whom a jury just found him liable for sexually assaulting.

A CNN journalist has slammed his own network after it aired the controversial town hall event with Donald Trump, branding the primetime event a "spectacle of lies."

Oliver Darcy, CNN's senior media reporter, wrote in his CNN newsletter overnight after the show: "It's hard to see how America was served by the spectacle of lies that aired on CNN Wednesday evening."

"A professional lie machine, Trump fired off falsehoods at a rapid clip while using his bluster to overwhelm Collins, stealing command of the stage at some points of the town hall."

The multinational software company Oracle is cutting ties with the Global Disinformation Index, a State Department-funded group that the Washington Examiner revealed has been secretly blacklisting conservative media outlets.

If a company makes a false claim in an advertisement, the government has the power to hold that company accountable and not allow consumers to be fleeced.

That's because the Federal Trade Commission regulates truth in advertising.

As a direct result of multiple Washington Examiner reports, a State Department-backed nonprofit group is severing its financial relationship with a "disinformation" tracking organization that is secretly blacklisting and taking steps to shut down conservative media.

After seeing promising results in Eastern Europe, Google will initiate a new campaign in Germany that aims to make people more resilient to the corrosive effects of online misinformation.

The tech giant plans to release a series of short videos highlighting the techniques common to many misleading claims. The videos will appear as advertisements on platforms like Facebook, YouTube or TikTok in Germany. A similar campaign in India is also in the works.

One of the more interesting, but seemingly academic, concerns of the new era of AI sucking up everything on the web was that AIs will eventually start to absorb other AI-generated content and regurgitate it in a self-reinforcing loop. Not so academic after all, it appears, because Bing just did it! When asked, it produced verbatim a COVID conspiracy coaxed out of ChatGPT by disinformation researchers just last month.
