IBERVILLE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Emergency officials are on the scene of multiple explosions in Iberville Parish.

It appears to be near the area of the Dow Chemical Plant, according to Sheriff Brett Stassi.

Officials said no word yet on injuries reported.

Deputies are on scene and investigating to get more information.

DOW, slid 2.33% to $51.92 Tuesday, on what proved to be an all-around dismal trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index SPX, falling 0.47% to 4,388.71 and Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, falling 0.72% to 34,053.87. This was the stock's second consecutive day of losses. Dow Inc. closed $8.96 below its 52-week high ($60.88), which the company reached on February 7th. DOW, slid 0.62% to $52.81 Wednesday, on what proved to be an all-around mixed trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index SPX, rising 0.08% to 4,372.59 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, falling 0.68% to 33,979.33. Dow Inc. closed $8.07 short of its 52-week high ($60.88), which the company reached on February 7th. The stock underperformed when compared to some of its competitors Wednesday, as Linde PLC LIN, rose 0.28% to $374.31 and Air Products & Chemicals Inc. APD, rose 1.40%...

Shares of Salesforce and Amgen are trading lower Thursday morning, dragging the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. Shares of Salesforce CRM, and Amgen AMGN, are contributing to the index's intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, was most recently trading 142 points (0.4%) lower. Salesforce's shares are off $12.25, or 5.5%, while those of Amgen are off $6.76 (3.1%), combining for a roughly 125-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Nike NKE, , Home Depot HD, , and Johnson & Johnson JNJ, ....

Stocks fell Wednesday as investors kept an eye on the federal debt ceiling debate in Washington in the final trading day of May.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 274 points lower, or 0.8%. The S&P 500 dipped 0.9%, pulling the index at one point into negative territory for the month. The Nasdaq Composite pulled back by 0.7%.

The Dow fell early Thursday on worries about US debt ceiling talks, but chip maker Nvidia surged more than 20 percent, lifting its market value close to $1 trillion.

Shares of Nvidia shot up after it forecast a big jump in revenues tied to artificial intelligence technology. The Nasdaq advanced, while the Dow sagged after Fitch placed the United States on credit watch negative over the debt ceiling impasse.

The three major U.S. stock indices are targeting their worst annual performance since 2008, with the S&P 500 skidding over 20% in 2022. 

Stocks fell on Friday as growth shares dipped in the final trading session of a year marked by aggressive interest rate hikes to curb inflation, recession fears, the Russia-Ukraine war and rising concerns over COVID-19 cases in China.

Wall Street has said goodbye — and good riddance — to 2022, a year most investors would rather forget.

All three major averages were down on Friday, clocking their worst year since 2008 and ended a three-year winning streak.

The Dow fell 73 points, or 0.2% Friday, the last trading day of the year. In 2022, the Dow fell about 9%.

The S&P 500 was 0.3% lower Friday, leaving it down about 20% for the year.

The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 0.1% Friday, close to its lowest level since July 2020. The tech-heavy index has been battered this year, falling 33%.
