U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris told supporters in Nevada on Saturday she supported eliminating taxes on tips, taking a similar position to her rival Donald Trump in an effort to win over service workers, an important constituency in the state.

Harris and her Democratic running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, wrapped up a multi-day tour of battleground states on Saturday with their stop in Nevada, a western state that could play a pivotal role in the Nov. 5 presidential election.

Ann Coulter said she will vote for former President Trump in November, despite thinking he is an ā€œawful, awful person,ā€ because of his pick of Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate.

The conservative media pundit has mostly sworn off Trump and urged on his rivals in the 2024 primary election, but told C-SPAN’s ā€œWashington Journalā€ on Sunday that she will still give him her vote.

Former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign said Saturday that it has been hacked and suggested Iranian actors were involved in stealing and distributing sensitive internal documents. The campaign provided no specific evidence of Iran’s involvement, but the claim comes a day after Microsoft issued a report detailing foreign agents’ attempts to interfere in the U.S. campaign in 2024.

Vice President Kamala Harris cloned former President Trump's pledge to eliminate federal taxes on tips paid to workers in restaurants, bars, hotels and others in the service industry. At a rally on the campus of the University of Nevada at Las Vegas on Saturday evening, Harris pledged to fight for "working families of Americans." "When I was attorney general of California, we worked together to crack down on wage theft," she said. "When I was a United States senator, we fought together for paid family leave and medical leave." Harris,...

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has announced a temporary ban on X (formerly Twitter) in the country. The decision followed his war of words with the platform’s CEO, Elon Musk, who has accused Maduro of election fraud.

In a televised speech on Thursday, Maduro accused the tech mogul of ā€œinciting hatred, fascism, civil war, death, [and] confrontation of Venezuelans,ā€ as well as violating national laws. The leader added that he has signed a resolution presented by the National Commission of Telecommunications to ban the social media platform for ten days.

A federal grand jury on Thursday indicted voting-machine company Smartmatic's president and founder Roger PiƱate on bribery and money-laundering charges in order to get election contracts in the Philippines.

Smartmatic's voting machines have been used in Venezuelan and Philippine presidential elections, and was founded in 2000, but didn't take off until the Venezuelan election in 2004, when Venezuelan president Hugo ChĆ”vez chose the company to replace the country's previous machines, according to the Miami Herald.

Donald Trump would benefit from independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dropping out of the election race, according to experts.

State and national polls show that when third party candidates are included, Kennedy Jr. is taking more votes from Trump than Kamala Harris three months ahead of the election.

In keeping with the progressive obsession to highlight differences of race and sex, the Harris for president campaign recently organized a series of Zoom calls dividing supporters by their demographic characteristics. At a ā€œWhite Dudes for Harrisā€ gathering last Monday, Minnesota’s Gov. Tim Walz stole the ideological show.

ā€œHistorically, the vice-president, in terms of the election, does not have any impact,ā€ Donald Trump told the National Association of Black Journalists last week. ā€œI mean, virtually no impact … virtually never has it mattered.ā€ The former US president may have been engaged in a bit of wishful thinking. If the last few weeks have shown us anything, it’s that vice-presidential running mates do, in fact, matter.

The selection of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as the vice-presidential nominee for Kamala Harris checks a number of important boxes for the Democratic nominee and is likely to draw none of the controversy that, on the Republican side, has been attracted by JD Vance or might have attached itself to Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro or Sen. Mark Kelly.
