A little-known, far-right populist took the lead in Romania’s presidential election Sunday, electoral data showed, and will likely face leftist Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu in a runoff in two weeks, an outcome that rocked the country’s political landscape.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will remain on the North Carolina ballot after a state judge rejected an appeal from the North Carolina Democratic Party.

The North Carolina State Board of Elections ruled last month that Kennedy’s party, the We the People Party, did qualify for the state’s ballot. Wake County Superior Court Judge Keith Gregory rejected an appeal to that decision.

A new bill pending in Congress would mandate open primaries across the country, giving roughly 23.5 million registered independents a chance to nominate candidates for federal office.

Former President Donald Trump took to social media late Saturday night to claim that he came up with an idea to end taxes on tips despite another Republican candidate proposing such a policy over a decade ago.

Trump, in a rant on his Truth Social platform, called Vice President Kamala Harris a “COPYCAT” and shared a screenshot of a right-wing social media account that accused her of having “plagiarized directly” from him.
