No motive has been released by the police in the alleged torture and murder of Sam Nordquist, a trans-identifying woman killed in New York in early February. There is, however, sufficient evidence to confirm the alleged murder was not a hate crime.

Despite this, media reports insist on forcing that narrative, as LGBT activists demand it and Democrat leaders validate it. The facts of the case are deeply disturbing, and the obsession with manufacturing an anti-trans hate crime story is making it worse.

The US’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization is calling for hate crime charges to be filed against a Texas woman accused of trying to drown a three-year-old Palestinian-American girl while saying that the child’s mother wasn’t really American.

For now, the suspect in the case has been booked on counts of attempted murder and injury to a child.

While most Americans overall think hate crimes against Asian Americans are going down, Asian Americans disagree: 1 in 3 reported being the subject of hate this past year, a new survey finds.

Why it matters: Four years after the pandemic when the nation saw surges in anti-Asian hate, Asian Americans still feel they are targets despite anti-hate campaigns and assurance from elected officials.

Comments by JK Rowling challenging police to arrest her for online misgendering do not amount to a crime, Police Scotland said.

As the Scottish government’s contentious hate crime law came into force on Monday, the author and gender-critical activist posted a thread on X saying the legislation was ā€œwide open to abuseā€ after listing sex offenders who had described themselves as transgender alongside well-known trans women activists, describing them as ā€œmen, every last one of themā€.

The prime minister has said people should not be criminalised "for stating simple facts on biology" in response to JK Rowling's criticism of Scotland's new hate crime law.

The author took to social media to hit out at the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act which came into effect on Monday.

The law creates a new crime of "stirring up hatred" relating to protected characteristics.

Rishi Sunak said the UK had a proud tradition of free speech.

Massachusetts police arrested six middle school students on hate charges over an online chat where they participated in a "mock slave auction" of other students.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni told reporters at a media briefing that the students were charged with online bullying over the chat room that targeted two of their fellow students at Southwick Regional School.

Gulluni said the interactions were posted to the Snapchat social media app in February and involved many students who would join and leave the room.
