Voters who only read headlines might think Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is teaching children that slavery was a good thing, but there are lies, damn lies, and Democratic media talking points.

Florida’s history standards would be uncontroversial if they had been produced by anyone other than former President Donald Trump’s top rival for the presidential nomination. The liberal media are, in this as in many other things, proving themselves to be nothing more than lap dogs for the Democratic Party.

In 2016, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who was running for president, came under attack for having 17 traffic tickets and a speedboat. The speedboat later turned out to be a fishing vessel in what was probably one of the most pathetic attempts by the liberal media to smear a Republican presidential candidate. That was the gold standard of silliness, hall of fame-worthy, but we may have a new inductee in Reuters's latest swipe at Ron DeSantis.

The Washington Post publisher Fred Ryan is stepping down after nine years atop the paper, he said in an email to staffers on Monday. His last day will be August 1.

ā€œWe have accomplished one of the most extraordinary transformations in modern media history,ā€ Ryan wrote to staffers. ā€œWe have evolved from a primarily local print newspaper to become a global digital publication.ā€

Amazon founder and chairman Jeff Bezos, the Post’s owner, named Patty Stonesifer as interim CEO.

Billionaire George Soros is set to take control of Vice Media, a failed liberal media network.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Vice Media is close to settling a deal to sell itself out of bankruptcy to lenders, including Fortress Investment Group and Soros Fund Management, for a roughly $400 million valuation.

At its prime in 2017, Vice Media was at its peak valuation of $5.7 billion.

CNN accused Don Lemon of lying on Monday after the fired anchor claimed that none of the network’s top brass reached out to tell him he was out of a job.

Lemon, whose final months at CNN were marred by a series of high-profile scandals, had suggested earlier in the day that he was blindsided by the news of his dismissal.

ā€œDon Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate. He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter,ā€ CNN said in a statement posted on its PR team’s Twitter account.
