Three parties were expected to be in a tight race as Finland held its general election Sunday, with Prime Minister Sanna Marin’s Social Democrats fighting to secure a second term running the government.

Over 2,400 candidates from 22 parties were vying for the 200 seats in the Nordic country’s parliament, the Eduskunta. Some 40% of eligible voters cast their ballots in advance.

The Biden White House announced Tuesday morning that 25 "guests" will join Jill Biden and second gentleman Doug Emhoff in the first lady's box at tonight's State of the Union Address.

"Each of these individuals were invited by the White House because they personify issues or themes to be addressed by the President in his speech, or they embody the Biden-Harris Administration’s policies at work for the American people," the White House said in its announcement.

If that is the case, this is shaping up to be another divisive speech from the "unity" president.

Something is broken in our politics. Just about everyone knows it, but it can be hard to put your finger on what it is.

As the media attempt to grapple with this felt reality, they reach over and over for the same word: polarization. That, we're told, is the shorthand for what has gone wrong. Where once the country had its share of conservative Democrats, liberal Republicans, and mushy moderates, today the two parties are more internally consolidated—and further apart from each other—than ever.

There’s a reason Americans have such little faith in the news media in 2020—and the problem isn’t President Donald Trump.

Rioting, vandalism, arson, and looting have become commonplace, but media outlets are too busy spinning narratives, rather than pursuing the truth of what is happening.

America’s left-wing has taken a dark and dangerous turn, now openly expressing a desire for its political opposition to be delegitimized, criminalized, intimidated and ultimately banished.

This attitude has been boiling since Donald Trump became president. He’s too dangerous to be allowed to speak, they said, as the likes of Sen. Kamala Harris called on Twitter to suspend his account.

As Sino–American relations continue to deteriorate, liberal democracies need to unite against China’s ever-expanding economic influence.

Liberalism is facing its “greatest crisis in decades”, in part because western governments have failed to uphold their values and Donald Trump has damaged the west’s moral authority, according to a new Lowy Institute paper.

The scathing assessment, published on Wednesday, is accompanied by a call for countries including Australia to work towards a “more inclusive order driven by a common imperative in meeting 21st-century challenges such as climate change, pandemic disease and global poverty”.

Forget the bizarre and evil concept of national original sin that is the malignant idea that America is built upon “systemic racism." America’s true systemic flaw, arising at the time of those miserable progressives of yesteryear and continuing up through the miserable progressives of this rotten year, is what we now call “liberalism.”
