#MeToo was trending in the aftermath of the verdict in Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation trial Wednesday.

Internet users discussed what impacts this case might have on the already tarnished movement, after a jury ruled in Depp’s favor, finding his ex-wife sullied his reputation and damaged his career with her claims of domestic abuse.

“#MeToo is dead,” declared Meghan McCain. “Helluva job @ACLU.”

Using sexual allegations as a political tool has killed the movement’s credibility and rendered truth irrelevant.

Is Elon Musk a sexual predator? The Supreme Court will not review the sexual assault case against Bill Cosby, leaving in place a decision by Pennsylvania’s highest court that vacated the comedian's 2018 indecent assault conviction and freed him from prison in June.

The high court on Monday declined a request from prosecutors to hear the case and reinstate the conviction. 

Andrew Wyatt, a spokesperson for Bill Cosby, called the decision "a victory."

Jeff Zucker, the powerful and ambitious TV executive who ran CNN since 2013, suddenly quit his job this week. A mediator has ordered Kevin Spacey to pay nearly $31m (£23.2m) to the studio that made the hit Netflix show, House of Cards, for breach of contract following sexual harassment allegations against the US actor.

The secret ruling was made last year, but became public on Monday after lawyers for the studio, MRC, filed a court petition to confirm the award.

The actor has faced several sexual assault allegations since 2017.

He has denied any wrongdoing.

A leader within Time's Up, the organization founded in the wake of the #MeToo movement to fight gender-based discrimination in the workplace, has resigned after it emerged that she aided New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo after multiple women accused him of harassment.

Roberta "Robbie" Kaplan was the chair of the board of directors at Time's Up before resigning Monday. She was also a co-founder of the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund and a prominent voice in the #MeToo movement that toppled Hollywood executives and others accused of harassing and assaulting women.
